Warranty Claims Handler at Riddermark Bil – Technical Specialist
Do you have a background from the workshop floor and want to take the next step where your technical expertise truly drives the business? Do you have experience with troubleshooting, spare parts, and assessing repairs – and want to work more analytically and structurally while maintaining your connection to workshop reality? Then this could be the role for you.
Riddermark Bil is now hiring a warranty claims handler for our head office in Alvik. We're looking for someone who knows cars for real – and who wants to use that knowledge to make correct, well-founded decisions in warranty and complaint cases.
About the Role
As a warranty claims handler, you are responsible for assessing warranty and complaint cases from both a technical and business perspective. You work closely with workshops, spare parts suppliers, and internal departments, where your experience becomes crucial in distinguishing between what falls under warranty, wear and tear, or user error.
This is not a junior administrative role – it's a specialist function where your technical understanding and judgment are central to every decision.
We work at a fast pace and you are expected to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities
Assess warranty and complaint cases based on technical facts and documentation
Analyze troubleshooting reports, repair proposals, and cost estimates from workshops
Make decisions on what should be approved, rejected, or adjusted
Ensure correct handling of spare parts, labor hours, and repairs
Maintain ongoing dialogue with workshops regarding troubleshooting and repair scope
Communicate decisions clearly to internal departments and customers
Contribute to developing processes and raising the technical level of the team
What We're Looking For
Several years of experience in the automotive industry, for example as a mechanic, technician, or workshop manager
Strong expertise in troubleshooting and understanding what actually causes a fault
Experience with spare parts, component-level understanding, and reasonable repairs
Able to distinguish between warranty cases, wear and tear, and user error
Comfortable making decisions and standing behind them
Structured and able to work systematically – without losing sight of the bigger picture
Clear and professional communication skills, both internally and externally
Business-minded and understand the cost implications of different repairs
Meritorious
Experience with warranty handling or complaints management
Previous work as a technical advisor, mechanic, troubleshooter, or similar
Experience with labor hour and spare parts estimation
Salary
30,000–40,000 kr/month depending on experience and qualifications
