Children and Youth Rehabilitation (BUH) is a specialist regional activity where children and young people aged 0 to 17 with congenital or early acquired functional limitations are welcome. Here, children and adolescents together with their families can receive advice, support and treatment to prevent and reduce the difficulties that functional limitations can cause in daily life. We are 35 employees in Gävle working together with the goal that all children and young people receive the right conditions to function as optimally as possible. Come and make meaningful contributions together with us! 1 position(s). WORK TASKS As a physical therapist with us, you have an important role in rehabilitation work. You work with children and young people with motor functional limitations primarily, but also with autism and intellectual functional limitations. You are part of an interdisciplinary team together with occupational therapist, speech-language pathologist, special educator, nurse, psychologist, rehabilitation assistant, social worker, physician and dietitian. In your work you also collaborate with other activities such as pediatric healthcare, orthopedic clinics, assistive devices SAM, orthopedic technology actors as well as preschools/schools. Communication and play are important tools in the work. As a physical therapist with us, you will work with, among other things: • physical therapy assessments for pronounced motor symptoms that limit the child in daily life • graduated physical therapy interventions in the form of self-care advice, group sessions and individual interventions • assessments and interventions regarding breathing/circulation and pain related to functional limitations • motivation work and coaching to increase physical activity in cases of inactivity and mental health issues. You also have the ability to plan and organize your work efficiently. Since the work can involve unforeseen changes, we see that you have the ability to adapt. You will have close collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders, which means you need to be responsive, able to communicate well and solve challenges in a constructive way. In your role as a physical therapist, you should • be a licensed physical therapist. For this position, it is meriting if you have further education in neurology, gait analysis and functional limitations.
