The Rehabilitation Center is a base unit consisting of children's and youth rehabilitation, special support and rehabilitation for adults, as well as vision and hearing rehabilitation. The service provides rehabilitation and counseling and other personal support according to LSS to children, youth, and adults with permanent disabilities. The Rehabilitation Center is a regional operation with approximately 170 employees and workplaces in Lycksele, Skellefteå, and Umeå. Our mission is to contribute to good health and the best possible functional capacity as well as good conditions for an independent life and active participation in society for the children, youth, and adults we meet. We are now seeking a physical therapist for Children's and Youth Rehabilitation. The work team includes an occupational therapist, physical therapist, social worker, speech-language pathologist, physician, psychologist, and special education teacher. We provide rehabilitation to children and youth who are part of the LSS target groups. With us, you have the opportunity for flexible hours and wellness activities during working hours. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES As a physical therapist with us, you contribute knowledge and commitment that can improve quality of life. You will primarily work with children and youth who have significant and permanent disabilities and their networks. We have a family-oriented approach and work in multidisciplinary teams around the families we meet. You contribute your specific expertise to the team's work. Your most important task as a physical therapist is to demonstrate the connection between movement and health and how movement can contribute to an active and balanced life. The work aims to develop/improve, maintain, or compensate for body functions, activity, and enable participation. The work involves mapping functional capacity in children and assessing the need for interventions. Services can be provided individually and in groups, at the rehabilitation center, in a pool, or in the child's/youth's immediate environment. The work also includes testing of assistive devices and collaboration with specialist healthcare regarding orthotics, orthopedics, and spasticity. A significant part of the work is to inform and guide parents and their network. In addition to your own professional services, you are also responsible for case management and rehabilitation planning for users together with other staff members. Collaboration with other care providers and authorities is included. Supervising physical therapy students is also part of the work. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for you as a licensed physical therapist. You have good knowledge of significant and permanent disabilities and the consequences they can have on a person's life. You can collaborate well and convey knowledge to the individual, family, and other networks. Working in a team as well as independently comes naturally to you. It is an advantage if you have experience working with children and youth with disabilities. A requirement is that you have worked as a physical therapist. As a person, you are confident in yourself and your profession and can meet people who are in grief and crisis in a respectful manner. You are trustworthy and create opportunities for dialogue with the child's parents and network in a natural way. You have a strong interest in the rehabilitation field. We value personal qualities highly and desire attentiveness, respect for the child's, youth's, and family's needs, good planning and organizational skills, good teamwork ability, and clear interest in collaboration in multidisciplinary teams. We are looking for you who with your expertise becomes a complement to our work team. You need to have a category B driver's license as the work involves travel within Southern Lapland.
