Do you want to contribute to a safe and meaningful day for students in pre-school class and after-school care? Vega School in Haninge is looking for an after-school program leader with diabetes competence. You'll work together with teachers and after-school colleagues to create connections, good relationships, and learning environments where students can develop.
Your Assignment
You meet the students during both school and after-school time and help make the whole day cohesive. With clear and calm leadership, you create a sense of security in teaching, transitions, breaks, meals, and activities. You support both the group and individual students in close collaboration with teaching staff.
Your work includes:
planning, leading, and participating in meaningful activities indoors and outdoors,
providing secure support to children with diabetes during school and after-school time according to the program's procedures,
preventing and managing conflicts and serving as a playground supervisor,
registering attendance and following shared procedures for supervision, safety, and documentation,
collaborating professionally and solution-focused with guardians and colleagues,
participating in planning, follow-up, and development of the after-school program's activities.
You'll also participate in field trips, holiday activities, shared activities, and team meetings. Your working hours are scheduled, and you're part of the after-school program's opening and closing schedule.
What We're Looking For
You have:
upper secondary education,
at least one year of documented experience working with children in pre-school class, primary school years, or after-school care,
diabetes competence and ability to provide secure support to children with diabetes and follow the program's procedures,
good knowledge of interaction, group leadership, and conflict management,
ability to communicate professionally and fluently in Swedish, both spoken and written,
ability to use the program's digital tools and work according to shared procedures.
You're a secure role model who pays attention to students' social interactions and adapts your approach to the situation. You build trusting relationships, are clear in your communication, and stay calm when unexpected things happen. You plan your work in a structured way, collaborate well, and contribute to shared solutions.
It's a merit if you have
experience with pre-school class and working with the same student group during both school and after-school time,
experience leading activities, playground programs, and safety work, as well as collaborating with guardians and student support services,
knowledge of the after-school program's role in the curriculum Lgr22 and experience with planning, follow-up, and systematic quality work,
education or knowledge in special education, accessible learning environments, clarifying pedagogy, low-arousal interaction, or collaborative problem-solving,
experience adapting activities for students with neurodevelopmental disabilities.
