The Role of Foot Care Specialist
As a Foot Care Specialist, you perform foot care and wound care for diabetic patients. This also involves observing, assessing, prioritizing, documenting, and communicating changes in the patient's foot status.
You participate in teamwork around the patient, and in dialogue with the patient and their family, you provide support and guidance to enable optimal participation in care and treatment. The team consists of diabetes physicians, diabetes nurses, dietitians, and podiatrists. As a podiatrist, you also frequently collaborate with orthopedists and orthotists. It is independent work where you get the opportunity to take significant responsibility, while also working in a team with high expertise in several other professions.

The Diabetes Foot Care Clinic is part of Medical Care Unit E at the Department of Medicine and Geriatrics. The Department of Medicine and Geriatrics at Höglandssjukhuset in Eksjö is a developing operation where we care for patients who need specialized medical and geriatric care. Your Profile
You are trained as a nursing assistant and have a three-semester foot specialist education. It is also desirable that you have several years of experience in the profession. You are calm and accommodating in your manner and collaborate well with others. You should feel comfortable mentoring students and speaking to groups.
We would like to see that you have good knowledge and experience with wounds and diabetes.
