At the Swedish Migration Agency, we work with one of our time's major societal issues – migration. In total, we are approximately 6,000 people here, and we have an unusually important job! We are seeking detention officers for the detention facility in Flen At a detention unit, people who have received a rejection or deportation decision and who need to be available for enforcement are placed. A person may also be detained if the right to stay in the country or their identity needs to be investigated. The facility is a closed unit and operations run 24/7. The work is based on applicable legislation where legal security, dignity, and safety are important. The role includes work with care, surveillance, inspections, and security. You conduct conversations at, for example, admission and discharge as well as to inform about decisions. You identify and address any special needs of the detained individuals and organize activities for them. Furthermore, you ensure a calm, safe, and secure environment at the facility through carrying out security checks and inspections. Participation in transports, responsibility for food handling, and certain administrative tasks are also part of the position. The work can be somewhat physically demanding. We are looking for someone who enjoys working in a team and has good collaboration skills, is attentive, and resolves conflicts in a constructive manner. You have good self-awareness and can distinguish between the personal and professional. Since operations are dynamic, you need to be calm and stable even under stress or pressured situations, maintain a realistic perspective, and focus on the right things. You thrive with variety and find it easy to adapt and adjust your perspective and approach when circumstances change. In our work as civil servants, there are also high demands for sound judgment and strong security and confidentiality awareness.
