We work together and are convinced that all people want to and can learn. About the Operation As of fall 2024, we moved into the brand new Fredriksborgskolan. Fredriksborgskolan will serve as the entrance to the new district Gässlösa, which is currently being developed in southern Borås. The school will eventually accommodate around 850 students from preschool class through grade 9. The school includes an elementary school F-6, an adapted elementary school 1-9, as well as municipality-wide special teaching groups, making us a large, integrated school that benefits from our differences and adapts our instruction to students' varied needs. It is important to us that children and young people feel safe and seen. Fredriksborgskolan is a school where the facilities are designed to be the small school within the large. The school has two principals, two assistant principals, and two school administrators. Our municipality-wide special teaching groups serve students from grades 1-9. The catchment area is the entire City of Borås. Students receive instruction in smaller groups with enhanced adult support. Job Responsibilities The main part of the lead teacher role involves teaching in grades 1-3. As a lead teacher, you should be a good role model, have the ability to share your knowledge and professional skills with colleagues. In addition to teaching and other customary teacher responsibilities, lead teachers work on special tasks, the scope of which is determined by the principal. As a lead teacher, you will focus on development work identified in our systematic quality work aimed at increasing goal achievement. You will also, together with other lead teachers at the school, plan and lead colleagues in our development areas. Your role may include: working together with school leadership to analyze, lead, implement, and follow up quality development related to instruction developing instruction at your own school or at other schools in the administration leading, coordinating, and overseeing school-wide development processes staying current with research and initiating pedagogical discussions coordinating and serving as facilitator and mentor in professional collegial learning observing and mentoring in teaching situations mentoring other teachers on general didactic issues or questions related to specific subjects. Lead teachers may also have a special assignment in introducing newly hired teachers. Qualifications We are looking for someone who wants to become a lead teacher, holds a teaching credential with authorization to teach mathematics and Swedish for grades 1-3. It is meritorious if you have experience leading processes or development work in mathematics instruction.
