We are seeking a driven, child-loving, certified preschool teacher for our preschool with a music and theater profile in Gamla Stan. We want you to have a strong interest in working with expressive forms such as dance, music, rhythm, drama, language, and creative activities. And we want you to be passionate about play and see the importance of an organized learning environment where you want to be actively involved in developing it. Start date: fall 2026, by agreement.
The position is offered at Preschool Kling & Klang Gamla Stan, located at Norra Dryckesgränd 4 in a 17th-century building. We have 15 children ages 1-5. Our team consists of preschool teachers, childcare workers, an art pedagogue, and a principal. Our staff has specialized expertise in aesthetic forms of expression and we want you to have a strong interest or competence in working with aesthetic forms of expression. As a preschool teacher, you will share certain site responsibility with the assistant principal and principal. Therefore, we see it as important that you are structured, organized, can lead, and be solution-oriented. We also see that you must be strong administratively, where you should be able to write plans, evaluations, and create pedagogical documentation—to name a few examples. You need to work with the assistant principal as the connecting link.
For us, it is important to be professional and view inclusion as natural, and to see all children as competent.
The preschool is privately operated. There are three preschools in total in the company. We collaborate between units and share substitute staff and help each other between facilities, maintain a shared information and materials bank where we share good practices, take field trips together, and combine resources during summer and winter holidays. The preschool's pedagogical approach is Reggio Emilia with a profile of music and theater.
Preschool Kling & Klang was selected in 2014 as one of the city's exemplary programs for its work with music, dance, and theater. We want the preschool teacher to have the following qualities:
* Good understanding of child development and be a present educator
* Approved preschool teacher degree and certification
* See systematic quality work as interesting and necessary
* Can plan, document, follow up, and develop your teaching
* Are a good administrator and organizer
* Have good knowledge of the Preschool Curriculum, School Act, other policy documents & general guidelines
* Good IT skills and can document children's learning through various methods
* Flexible, responsive, and solution-oriented
* A good colleague
* A positive and engaged person who is stable and empathetic
* Valid extract from the criminal record and suspicion register
* See the importance of good collaboration between preschool and home
* Lead, structure, and organize
A plus if you have the following competencies:
* Familiar with the Reggio Emilia pedagogical philosophy and preferably applied it in previous work, as well as worked as a pedagogical leader
* Have worked with music and theater, can sing, play an instrument, or are interested in music and dance
* Drama pedagogue
* Multilingual
