About the Position As a research engineer in computer science and software development, you will be part of the entire development chain of the unit's simulation environments, which will contribute to our ability to analyze and evaluate current and future systems' electromagnetic warfare properties. An ability that strengthens Sweden's security and the Armed Forces' capabilities. You will work with programming various applications and code libraries, designing and implementing graphical user interfaces, and facilitating communication between hardware to enable simulations and further development of simulation methodologies. You will also participate in data analysis for the advancement of data presentation and visualization. As a research engineer, you will work in one or more project groups, both individually and in teams. About the Unit You will be part of the Material-Near Electromagnetic Warfare Analysis unit, which belongs to the Electromagnetic Warfare department. The unit conducts applied research and methodology development related to material-near analysis of sensor and electromagnetic warfare systems operating within the electromagnetic spectrum. We work, among other things, with developing, deploying, and maintaining hardware-close simulation environments used to answer questions and meet the needs of the Armed Forces and FMV. Operations are largely experimentally oriented, with work carried out both in laboratories and in the field, in close cooperation with our clients. Do you have the competency profile we need? Requirements We are looking for you who: - Hold a Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, or an equivalent relevant field. - Have practical experience with programming, for example Python, C, C++, or VHDL. - Have practical experience working with networks where programs and hardware can communicate with low latency. - Are familiar with software development via git. - Have practical experience with data visualization and analysis. - Have good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in both Swedish and English. - Have good practical skills and a strong interest in technology and experimental work. Beyond your formal qualifications, we place great importance on your personal qualities. We are looking for someone with good collaboration skills. You are proactive and can independently and methodically solve work tasks and deliver results on time to our clients. Meritorious It is meritorious if you have current experience in one or more of the following areas: - Programming of control systems. - Design and implementation of graphical user interfaces and/or code libraries. - GPU programming for scene generation in Vulkan/VulkanSceneGraph or other graphics APIs. - FPGA programming of real-time systems. - Build systems CMake or Meson. - Build and packaging system Nix. - Experimental and/or test operations. - Hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) simulation. - Development of larger open-source projects, particularly nixpkgs. - Defense, defense-related research, or defense industry. - Category B driver's license.
