Stockholm Resilience Centre (SRC) is a research center for resilience and sustainable development at Stockholm University. The center promotes scientific understanding of complex, dynamic interactions between humans and nature in the biosphere; educates the next generation of researchers and leaders in sustainable development; and collaborates with change agents who share our vision. The center is a joint initiative of Stockholm University and the Beijer Institute of Ecological Economics at the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. In total, SRC has approximately 165 employees.

Responsibilities
The position is linked to the EU Horizon Europe project SEADOTs and the Biodiversa+ project UrbanOcean and will involve the following tasks:
Contribute to the continued development and documentation of an agent-based model (ABM) for Baltic Sea fisheries, including fishing fleet behavior and fish population dynamics under various policy scenarios.
Analyze relevant environmental, fisheries (e.g., AIS vessel tracking data, logbooks, ICES stock assessments, and HELCOM spatial data), and socioeconomic data for the Baltic Sea, and ensure that FAIR data standards are followed for integration into the agent-based model and the EDITO platform.
Analyze and visualize model results and empirical data for project outputs, scientific publications, and science communication.
Support collaboration with experts and other stakeholders to validate model assumptions and results.
Contribute to writing scientific reports and research articles.
Qualifications
We are seeking a candidate with previous experience working with Baltic Sea fisheries and agent-based modeling, as well as the following qualifications:
A master's degree in a relevant field such as sustainability science, marine/fisheries science, environmental science, or a related discipline.
Documented experience with agent-based modeling, preferably using NetLogo.
Experience working with spatial data and GIS tools (QGIS or similar GIS software).
Proficiency in R for statistical analysis and data visualization.
You must have the ability to write scientific texts in English as well as strong communication and collaboration skills.
Merits:
Familiarity with the European Digital Twin Ocean and EMODnet data submission processes as well as FAIR data principles.
Previous experience from EU-funded or other international research projects.
Knowledge of the Baltic Sea environment and fisheries.
Experience in project management.
Working knowledge of Swedish.
About the Position
This is a fixed-term position at 60% for eleven months. Stockholm University applies individual salary setting. Start date by agreement.
