SiS Youth Facility Långanäs receives non-compulsory school-age boys with psychosocial problems, criminal behavior, and substance abuse issues. Job Description Do you want a leadership role where your ability to drive development truly makes a difference? The Swedish Prison and Probation Service (SiS) is currently undergoing a comprehensive and exciting transformation, and at the youth facility Långanäs in Eksjö, we are scaling up significantly. Currently, Långanäs has four locked units, three of which are treatment units and one MBB unit (Reception and Needs Assessment). As part of our expansion, the operation will soon launch an open unit to offer a complete care continuum. We are now seeking an engaged unit manager to lead one of these three treatment units and its staff on this exciting development journey. As a unit manager with us, you receive a genuinely developmental assignment with full operational, personnel, financial, and work environment responsibility for a unit with approximately 16 employees. Our target group is non-compulsory school-age boys with psychosocial problems, criminal behavior, and substance abuse; your focus will be to give them the best conditions for a fresh start in life. Through a coaching and present leadership style, you drive method development, ensure quality in documentation, and create a safe, stable, and developmental work environment for your team. You do not run the unit alone, but collaborate closely in a management team with a group leader, who leads the daily operational work, and a treatment secretary. The unit employs treatment staff and treatment coordinators; in the broader team around the youth are also a psychologist, nurse, and teacher. You are also part of the institution's management group together with the institution director, rector, and fellow manager colleagues, where you share responsibility for the entire operation. As support in your role, you also have access to institution-wide support functions such as security coordinator, administrators, HR generalist, and quality unit. We know that engaged managers are key to our success, and that is why we invest heavily in you. As a new manager with us, you receive a thorough introduction and training program that prepares you for the role. Because we are an organization in constant development, it does not stop there; we offer exceptional opportunities for continuous professional development, leadership programs, and internal career paths within the agency. This is your chance to grow as a leader while helping shape the future of SiS. Qualifications We are looking for you who have: - An academic degree of at least 180 credits with a focus on social sciences, healthcare, or behavioral science, or another relevant academic degree. - Several years of experience working in operations focused on care, treatment, and security, such as for example social services, healthcare and treatment, corrections, or other relevant operations. - Documented current experience in a management role. - Category B driver's license It is meritorious if you have: - Experience in management with operational responsibility, budget responsibility, and personnel responsibility. Since operations are often event-driven, you need to be comfortable making decisions, reprioritizing, and quickly changing both pace and direction. You are calm and professional even in demanding situations and have the ability to adapt to changed circumstances. At the same time, high demands are placed on you having a holistic perspective and being able to work in a structured and systematic manner to ensure quality of care based on the agency's goals, guidelines, values, and applicable laws. You know how to prioritize and easily set goals and follow up on results. To fit the role, we see that you take responsibility for the whole and realize SiS vision and goals. You create conditions for good results and tackle challenges and act with courage when needed. You are a good role model and show trust in your colleagues' and coworkers' expertise and encourage them toward development and taking personal responsibility. You involve your employees in our development work and create conditions for active employee participation and a learning organization. You promote good cooperation within SiS and with other partners. You are communicative and create dialogue, participation, and engagement. At SiS, we value good leadership.
