As part of our adaptation for the future of social services, we have divided our operations into first and second line social services, where the First Line Prevention and Support Area is one of four areas within IFO. Our area consists of units within reception, family law, domestic violence teams, prevention and needs-assessed open care services, as well as administrative tasks and other support functions. Each unit is led by a unit manager, and the area as a whole is led by an area manager. The Family Treatment Unit Ages 0-17 implements needs-assessed interventions in the form of family treatment, intensive family treatment, and parental support to parents of placed children. The unit consists of two teams, a family treatment team and an intensive family treatment team, working to ensure that children and young people grow up under good living conditions. The open care services are facing an exciting development where interventions are shaped in close collaboration with other important stakeholders in the field, with the aim of constantly evolving and adapting to the needs we encounter among children and young people in order to offer the best possible support. The parental support intervention is new for our unit and is offered both as a non-needs-assessed and as a needs-assessed intervention. The goal of this intervention is to be able to offer support to all parents who have their children placed in emergency/family homes, HVB or SiS, and thereby alleviate the crisis that can come with having a child placed, as well as increase collaboration with the placing social services and thus improve the daily life of the placed child. Your Assignment As a parent support worker, you work to build relationships with the parents you meet through trust and confidence in order to create conditions for good cooperation around the child's care. Parental support is a non-needs-assessed intervention that takes place at the request of parents of placed children and is based on the parents' desired forms of support. The work is conducted in families that often have complex issues and takes place in environments deemed most appropriate. The work may include offering parents support in understanding the reasons for the placement, helping them go through decision documents and other documents that formed the basis for the decisions made, participating in meetings together with the parents, and helping with communication and cooperation. As a parent support worker, you also hold network-building meetings around the placed child with the aim of gathering all resources around the child in various matters that may arise during the placement and creating conditions for support to families over time. As our new colleague, you feel both desire and inspiration to participate in the ongoing development of our work and this assignment. Collaboration is an important part of the assignment, as there is often a need for interventions from and coordination with several different stakeholders. Your Qualifications Social worker or other university degree that the employer deems equivalent Experience working with placed children in family foster care and/or in HVB and SiS You have good knowledge of various functional variations and a good habit of adapting your work to the person you meet Fluent Swedish in speech and writing Knowledge of BBIC A driver's license is required Meritorious: Familiarity with Signs of Safety Who Are You?
