Sankta Elisabets Folkhögskola is a small adult education college sponsored by the Catholic Church. Located in the heart of Gothenburg with Trädgårdsföreningen and the Catholic Church on Heden as our nearest neighbors. Here, about 20 teachers work in a wonderful community where everyone has great opportunities to participate and have a say. We offer a large and varied course selection with a General Course and several special courses, including profile courses in Bible, church music, languages, and entrepreneurship. Our participants are often very active with a great appetite for learning.
What does the role of teacher involve with us?
To thrive as an adult education teacher with us, you should be skilled at utilizing participants' ideas to shape and develop your teaching. In collaboration with other teachers and our adult participants, you build content that is rich and varied. You are involved in creating a permissive and responsive atmosphere. Meetings and conversations between colleagues and participants in our various forums are important to you.
As a pedagogue, you will teach Natural Sciences Level 1 and Natural Sciences Level 2 in the General Course. You have one or more additional subjects that you could teach at upper secondary level, in the General Course, and in our senior course Vidgade vyer. In the General Course, we use a two-teacher system, which means you will have close collaboration with your subject colleagues. You also work closely with special educators, career counselors, and student services. Beyond teaching, your role includes socio-pedagogical work, mentoring, and school development. The senior course Vidgade vyer offers a wide range of subjects for our over 200 retirees and people not in the workforce. In this position, you will teach seniors in both smaller and larger groups.

This means you should be well versed in adult education pedagogy and assessment models, and have an openness and interest in existential and philosophical questions. You have relevant higher education and experience from adult education. You are proficient with the entire Office package, Microsoft 365, and Microsoft Teams.
