Do you want to develop folk education that strengthens associational life, engagement, and community throughout Norrbotten County? Here you'll help create meeting places, events, and projects that make a real difference for people, associations, and local communities. At Studiefrämjandet, you'll have a broad and independent role where you work together with associations, member organizations, and other stakeholders to create opportunities for people to meet, learn, and develop. Studiefrämjandet Norr is now recruiting a folk education developer based in Luleå with responsibilities across all of Norrbotten County. The Folk Education Developer Role As a folk education developer, you'll create and develop folk education activities together with member organizations, associations, and study circle leaders within our profile areas of nature, animals, environment, and culture. A social and environmental sustainability perspective runs through the role and provides space to address current societal challenges. The work is varied and gives you great freedom to take initiative. One day you meet an association with a new idea, the next you're planning an event, leading a training session, or developing a project with local stakeholders. The role is both strategic and operational, involving switching between long-term activity development and hands-on implementation. An important part of the role is to strengthen Studiefrämjandet's presence throughout the county, with particular focus on smaller towns and rural areas. Activity development within the animal profile, including the dog sector, is also part of the role. Duties and Responsibilities You'll have excellent opportunities to take initiative, develop activities, and turn ideas into practice based on the organization's goals and priorities. You work closely with member organizations, associations, municipalities, and other community actors to identify various needs and create conditions for local folk education. The role also includes training and supporting study circle leaders and associations in areas such as folk education pedagogy, group dynamics, and association management. In this role, you will, among other things: Start and develop folk education activities and new meeting places Maintain existing partnerships and create new contacts Coordinate and administer study circles and other activities Organize and participate in events and arrangements Initiate socially relevant and externally funded projects Follow up on activities and work with budget responsibility Your Profile We're looking for someone with strong civic engagement and genuine interest in folk education. You find it easy to build trust and develop relationships with people and organizations. You take initiative, work in a structured manner, and drive work forward both independently and with others. You have good pedagogical and communication skills and feel confident leading and supporting groups as well as driving development processes. You express yourself well in Swedish, both spoken and written, and use digital work and meeting tools without difficulty. It's an advantage if you can communicate activities on social media and create simple digital content. You also have basic knowledge of financial management. The role offers excellent opportunities to develop within folk education, project management, network building, and activity development. Experience We're looking for someone with post-secondary education in, for example, social sciences, behavioral sciences, pedagogy, humanities, or another field that the employer deems equivalent. We expect you to have at least two years of relevant work experience. Experience from study organizations, folk education, civil society, the nonprofit sector, or other association work is an advantage. Experience with activity development, external funding, or projects involving multiple actors is also an advantage. Knowledge of local associational life and contact points within one of our activity areas in the region is an advantage. It's an advantage if you have experience with dog associations or other actors in the dog sector and a good understanding of the field's target groups. About the Position This is a full-time position beginning with a six-month probationary period. Start date as soon as possible by agreement. The position is based on goal-oriented working hours with an average of 37.5 hours per week. Parts of the work take place in the evenings and occasionally on weekends. The employment is covered by the collective agreement for Professionals in Civil Society. We apply individual and differentiated salary setting. Work location is Luleå. The position involves travel within Norrbotten County and, if needed, outside the county. A valid driving license (category B) is therefore required.
