As a folk education developer at Studiefrämjandet, you will have a varied role where you build collaborations, develop activities, and support associations, leaders, and participants in their learning. Together with member organizations and other partners, you create folk education within our focus areas of animals, nature, environment, and culture. The role of folk education developer As a folk education developer, you are a central part of our operations. You translate folk education ideas into practice and create meaningful learning processes together with participants, leaders, and associations. The role involves both strategic and operational work, from initiating collaborations and planning activities to following up on results and contributing to development at local, regional, and sometimes national levels. You work in a dynamic environment where you have significant scope to influence and shape activities, always with participants' needs and society's challenges in focus. The work consists of a combination of outreach, coordination, education, and administration. Tasks and responsibilities As a folk education developer, you are responsible for planning, implementing, and developing Studiefrämjandet's local folk education activities, primarily within the focus areas of animals, nature, environment, and culture. Within the framework of the position, you develop and maintain collaborations with associations, member organizations, municipalities, and other actors. You contribute to our member organizations' educational needs by supporting their educational initiatives, developing study activities, and creating opportunities for learning and engagement. You will also train associations in various forms of organizational knowledge and train study circle leaders in folk education pedagogy, leadership, and group dynamics. In the role, you will, among other things: Start and develop folk education activities Engage, educate, and support study circle leaders and associations Support participants and leaders in their learning and development Build, develop, and maintain collaborations with associations, member organizations, municipalities, and other organizations Organize, arrange, and participate in various types of events and activities Coordinate and administer activities Work with departmental budget responsibility Your profile We are looking for someone who is engaged, relationship-focused, and has a genuine interest in folk education and our focus areas. You have an easy time building trust, developing long-term relationships, and collaborating with people from different backgrounds. You thrive on taking initiative, driving activities forward, and creating results together with others. As a person, you are structured and self-directed while having good collaboration skills. You have pedagogical ability and feel confident educating, leading groups, and supporting people in their learning. You have good computer skills, experience with administrative tasks, and feel comfortable with digital meeting tools. You also have basic knowledge of finance and a very good ability to express yourself in Swedish in speech and writing. Of course, you share our vision that all people should have knowledge, power, and space to participate in developing a sustainable and democratic society. We place great emphasis on personal suitability. Experience We are looking for someone with post-secondary education. It is an advantage if you have education within animals, nature, environment, culture, or related fields. It is also an advantage if you have experience from study associations, folk education, civil society, the non-profit sector, or other association activities. We would like you to have experience coordinating activities, projects, or educational initiatives and be accustomed to collaborating with associations and other actors. An established network within the animal, nature, environment, or cultural sector as well as association life in Katrineholm, Vingåker, and Flen municipalities is advantageous. What we offer The position is a full-time employment with an initial probationary period of six months. Start date by agreement. For the position, results-based working hours apply with an average of 37.5 hours per week. Parts of the work take place in the evenings and sometimes on weekends. The employment is covered by the collective agreement for civil society professionals. We apply individual and differentiated salary setting. The duty station is Katrineholm with particular focus on Katrineholm, Vingåker, and Flen municipalities. Travel within the assignment's geographic area occurs. Each year we organize thousands of study circles, cultural events, and other folk education activities in collaboration with groups, associations, and organizations throughout the country. Studiefrämjandet Mälardalen's activity area covers the counties of Gotland, Stockholm, Sörmland, Uppsala, and Västmanland.
