As a financial controller, you'll have a central role in developing analyses and decision-making materials that support priorities, resource allocation, and monitoring. About the job The role combines qualified financial management with developing the agency's governance and monitoring. You are a key person in the work of developing the Swedish Tax Agency's new financial model and contribute to translating financial conditions into operational management. Together with your colleagues, you develop qualified materials that support management and board priorities, resource allocation, and monitoring. In your work, you contribute to developing, maintaining, and quality-assuring the agency's processes for planning, governance, and monitoring based on the organization's annual cycle. This means you need to be able to apply regulations for public sector finances and translate them into working methods that support efficient and appropriate governance. You work broadly across the organization to create a holistic perspective and contribute to governance that is clear, cohesive, and based on operational needs. You also prepare and present cases for the management group, director general, and board. You'll be part of the financial unit with placement in Sundbyberg, Göteborg, or Östersund. The unit has 20 colleagues. About you To do a good job and thrive at the Swedish Tax Agency, you need to be attentive, think innovatively, and take responsibility. In this job, you should: - have a good ability to collaborate with others and be helpful, which means you are attentive to others' perspectives and take responsibility for completing shared tasks - have strong specialist knowledge in the field, continuously develop your competence, and serve as a knowledge resource for others - have very good analytical skills, which includes making well-founded decisions based on facts you've gathered when solving a task - be goal-focused and contribute to achieving the organization's objectives - have good communication skills in Swedish, both oral and written, which means you express yourself clearly, are attentive, and adapt your communication to the recipient and situation - be able to analyze information flows, see connections, and make decisions You should also have: - an academic degree in economics or accounting of at least 180 hp (120 p) - at least five years of current experience with qualified financial management work in public sector operations with mixed financing - relevant experience with development work in financial management, for example financial models, planning processes, or monitoring models from a public agency - current experience developing working methods or models that strengthen the connection between operations, resources, and results - at least five years of current and relevant experience with financial systems and corresponding experience with BI systems - experience preparing, quality-assuring, and presenting complex financial information to management groups - good knowledge of the regulations governing public sector finances and experience applying them in your work It is desirable that you have experience with different financial systems and experience working where system support, work processes, and instructions have been developed in coordination. Good to know The employment is permanent and may begin with a six-month trial period. Employment with us may involve placement in a security class. A security vetting with record check according to the security protection act (2018:585) may therefore be conducted before an employment decision.
