Film i Dalarna seeks a substitute film consultant for children, youth, and film literacy

Film i Dalarna AB is a wholly owned company of Region Dalarna that works to make Dalarna a vibrant film region. We drive development initiatives within film for children and youth, and strengthen work with film literacy and critical thinking about moving images. We create conditions for the screening of valuable film and promote the development of the region's cinema structure. We co-produce film and TV productions, strengthen the next generation of filmmakers in the region, and drive the development of Dalarna as an attractive filming location.
We are seeking a substitute film consultant who will be responsible for regional development work within film for children and youth. You will strengthen opportunities to watch, discuss, and create film and develop film literacy and critical understanding of moving images. You will initiate and lead projects, meeting places and events, manage and support external film education projects, and build long-term collaborations and networks with municipalities, schools, cultural schools, associations, film educators, and other cultural actors. You will also make Film i Dalarna's activities visible and take broader responsibility for external communication. The role combines strategic development work with practical implementation and collaboration.
Key responsibilities:
Manage and drive regional development work within film for children and youth. Strengthen opportunities to watch, discuss, and create film and develop film literacy and critical understanding of moving images.
Build long-term collaborations and networks with municipalities, schools, cultural schools, associations, film educators, and other cultural activities/actors, and participate in national networks.
Identify needs and initiate, plan, and lead projects, workshops, meeting places, events, and professional development initiatives, and manage and support external film education projects. The role includes budget responsibility and responsibility for film education technical equipment.
Make Film i Dalarna's efforts, methods, and results visible on the web, social media, and press, and take broader responsibility for external communication.
We are looking for you who:
Have education and/or relevant experience in film, pedagogy, media, culture, communication, or another applicable field.
Have knowledge of film education, children and youth culture, and media and information literacy, and experience presenting, training, or leading workshops.
Have experience initiating and leading projects, meeting places, events, or development processes together with schools, municipalities, cultural schools, or other cultural activities, and experience building networks and long-term collaborations.
Have experience in communication work and strong ability to create and adapt content for web, social media, press, and other digital channels.
Are independent, responsible, structured, and flexible, with strong ability to plan, prioritize, and drive processes from idea to implementation and follow-up.
It is advantageous if you have experience in public cultural activities, school, cultural school, or association work, and knowledge of children's rights, participation, and accessibility. The work involves travel throughout Dalarna. A valid driver's license is required.
Employment terms and application:
Employment form: Temporary position during study leave.
Scope: Full-time or by agreement.
Employment period: Until June 30, 2027.
Monthly salary and start date by agreement.
Work location: Falun.
