Falun Municipality's Children and Family Services Section consists of several operations that work together to strengthen children and families. Within family law, six social workers are employed, one of whom is also a team leader. The team is characterized by continuity, high competence, and close collaboration where collegial support is a natural part of daily life. For those new to us, regardless of experience, we offer a solid introduction program. Our team leader and your mentors will guide you through your first year. You will also be offered relevant training and professional development. Our goal is that you never have to stand alone in difficult or unfamiliar situations. Social work is something we do together. Work Tasks As a social worker in family law, you work with a broad and varied assignment based on the Parental Code. A large part of the work consists of investigations commissioned by the district court regarding custody, residence, and visitation. You also work with cooperation meetings between parents, information and advisory services, paternity establishment, adoption investigations, and other family law matters. The work involves many different types of meetings and conversations with children, parents, and other professionals. You often lead conversations in complex and emotionally difficult situations where parents are in conflict or crisis. A central part of the assignment is to highlight and take into account the child's perspective and make independent and well-founded assessments based on the child's best interests. With us, you work both independently and together with colleagues. In several cases, we work in pairs, which creates good conditions for quality, support, and shared assessments. The work is developmental and places demands on both analytical ability and professional conduct. Qualifications The position requires: Sociology degree (Socionomexamen) Good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both verbally and in writing Personal Qualities: We are looking for someone who is curious, engaged, and confident in your professional role. You are drawn to new challenges and want to contribute to change and development work. You have a genuine interest in family law matters and are motivated by working with complex situations where the child's best interests are central. You have good analytical ability and can make well-founded assessments even in difficult cases. You are confident in communicating your assessments in a clear, factual, and professional manner, even when they may be difficult to receive. As a person, you are empathetic, responsive, and communicative. You have the ability to meet people in crisis and conflict with respect and professionalism while maintaining your neutrality and objectivity. You have a high degree of personal maturity and self-awareness, which enables you to handle emotionally demanding situations in a sustainable way. You enjoy working both independently and in close collaboration with colleagues. The role requires you to be organized, responsible, and solution-focused, as well as having the ability to lead difficult conversations with both children and adults. In all work, you have a clear child perspective and can confidently rely on the assignment to represent the child's best interests. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability. Meritorious Qualifications: Experience with authority functions within social services Experience with family law work Experience conducting investigations and holding conversations with children and parents in conflict-filled situations Class B driver's license Employment Terms The recruitment concerns a permanent employment position on a full-time basis.
