The role of foster care secretary with us
In this role, you will work with on-call services and contact support. Together with colleagues, you will actively work to recruit contracted on-call foster homes and contact persons. You handle on-call placements, provide support and guidance to on-call foster homes, and contribute to developing our work with contracted on-call foster homes and contact persons.
You will, among other things:
- handle inquiries for on-call foster homes and contact persons and conduct an initial assessment
- receive urgent placement requests and match children and youth with suitable on-call foster homes
- provide support and guidance to on-call foster homes and contact persons
- investigate and make decisions on support for contact persons and on-call foster home placements
- collaborate closely with colleagues throughout the process from inquiry to placement
The work involves both independent responsibility and close collaboration. The service is under development, so work tasks may change over time, with continued focus on foster care.
Your profile
You are structured and relationship-building and enjoy combining independent responsibility with close collaboration. You build trust when meeting others and communicate clearly and with assurance. Since the work sometimes involves rapid changes, you also need to be flexible, solution-oriented, and able to maintain structure when conditions change.
You have strong commitment to children and youth's best interests and express yourself well in Swedish, both verbally and in writing. Great weight will be placed on personal suitability.
We are seeking you if you:
- have a degree in social work
- hold a category B driver's license
It is considered merits to have:
- experience working in social services, preferably within foster care and/or children and youth services

The Foster Care Unit is part of the Department for Individual & Family Care. Here, foster care secretaries, child secretaries, family counselors, social secretaries, senior social secretaries, and a unit manager work together. In this role, you will be part of a smaller team where you work closely with a recruiter and another on-call foster home secretary.
Together we work to create safe and stable conditions for children and youth who need to be placed outside their own homes. Our work is characterized by collaboration, commitment, and focus on the child's best interests.

We are offering a full-time parental leave position for one year starting no later than February 1 or by agreement. There may be an opportunity for extension.
