Every child deserves security, development, and a fair chance. That's the conviction that drives us at Hemnovia every day. We are now expanding beyond Gothenburg and are looking for a dedicated family foster care consultant who wants to make a real difference in the Växjö region, in an organization where quality and presence go hand in hand.
About Hemnovia
Hemnovia works with family foster care with a focus on quality and long-term commitment in every placement. We work closely with social services and place the child's safety at the center. We are a growing organization with short decision-making paths and management that is close and present, even when you work further from our head office in Gothenburg.
About the role
As a family foster care consultant in the Kronoberg region, you are our local face. You are responsible for a number of foster families and are their most important professional support in everyday life: from recruitment and matching to ongoing guidance and follow-up. You work from your home and plan much of your own workday with home visits and meetings as a natural part of daily work. Your introduction and training initially takes place at our office in Gothenburg, and you return there regularly for team meetings and coordination.
About the work area:
Your base is Kronoberg, but assignments regularly occur in neighboring counties as well. When recruiting new foster families, occasional travel within the wider region may occur.
You will, among other things:
Guide and support foster families in their work, even in complex situations
Conduct home visits and follow up on ongoing placements
Coordinate with social services, schools, and other stakeholders around the child
Document and report continuously to the client and to the team in Gothenburg
Recruit, investigate, and match emergency and foster families in the region
Participate in on-call duties according to a rotating schedule
We are looking for you who
Have a degree in social work or equivalent higher education qualification within social work, with experience in social work and preferably with children and young people. You are a secure and solution-oriented person who navigates confidently in complex relationships between foster families, children, biological networks, and social services. Because you work independently most of the time, it is important that you are self-directed, organized, and comfortable with own responsibility, while you also value and actively seek contact with the team.
You also have:
Good knowledge of current legislation, especially SoL and LVU
Ability to maintain focus and structure even when the pace is high, without daily office presence
A warm and professional approach when working with foster families and children
B-class driver's license and own car – the position involves regular home visits and travel in the region (compensation according to applicable rates)
Residing in the Kronoberg area and surrounding region
Meritorious
Experience with family foster care, investigations, or supervision of foster families
Training in BBIC, MI, Signs of Safety, or Ett hem att växa i
Training in investigation methods for foster families, such as Kälvesten
Supervisor training for foster families
Previous experience working from home/remotely in a similar role
We offer
A role where you make a real difference for children and young people every day
Great freedom to plan your own workday
Regular visits to our office in Gothenburg for team meetings and coordination
Regular supervision and an individual competence development plan
Wellness allowance and occupational pension
A committed team with high expertise, even if the distance is sometimes greater
Interviews are held on an ongoing basis, initially digitally. As part of the recruitment process, we request extracts from the suspicion and conviction register prior to employment.
