Are you looking for extra work? We are now seeking assistants who can cover for regular staff during absences and vacations. Our client has many interests such as going out and swimming, taking walks, swinging, massage, or just having a calm time at home. She also spends part of her weekdays at day activities where we as assistants accompany her. Our client has significant care needs with multiple disabilities, including autism and deafblindness. The client communicates using sign language and pictures that you will learn on the job. It is also important that you learn to read her cues and interpret signals, gestures, etc. There are many assistive devices for both indoor and outdoor environments; you will receive individualized workplace training regarding routines and equipment. Assistant's Role and Experience Experience working with people with disabilities is an advantage, but greatest weight is placed on personal suitability. We see that you are thorough, responsible, attentive, and have great patience. Our client's assistance is a small group of assistants and you will become part of a work team, so it is important that you are comfortable collaborating as well as working independently. Assistance is provided both in her apartment and in the family home. Meriting Experiences Knowledge of alternative and augmentative communication (AAC). Fluent Swedish. Driver's license (Category B). Working Hours/Employment Level Hourly – extra as needed when regular assistants are absent or on vacation. Working hours are scheduled for day, evening, and night shifts.
