Expert Support - Building Structures for Västlänken Department Kraftsam Rekrytering & Bemanning is seeking an experienced expert in building structures for the Swedish Transport Administration's (Trafikverket) Västlänken department for a long-term and socially important consulting assignment in Gothenburg. The assignment involves specialist support in concrete structures as part of one of Sweden's largest infrastructure projects, where the consultant will contribute technical expertise during both the design and execution phases. Assignment start is no later than 2026-10-01 with the possibility of an earlier start after contract execution. About the Company Trafikverket is responsible for long-term planning of the transport system for road traffic, rail traffic, shipping and aviation. The Västlänken department currently encompasses the Västlänken program, the Pilekrogen project, and the Sävenäs project. Västlänken is one of Sweden's largest infrastructure projects and includes, among other things, approximately eight kilometers of railway for commuter and regional trains in a tunnel under central Gothenburg with three new underground stations. About the Role We are seeking a consultant for an assignment as expert support in concrete structures for the Västlänken department. The assignment involves serving as technical expert support during both the design and execution phases and contributing to robust, cost-effective and production-adapted solutions within complex construction projects. Work is conducted in close collaboration with design management, contractors, design consultants and other relevant parties. Travel to the project office in Gothenburg is included as needed by the operation. Role and Responsibilities Support Trafikverket during design and development of construction documents regarding concrete structures. Participate as Trafikverket's representative in working groups and technical discussions with consultants, contractors and external parties. Contribute to the selection and design of technical solutions for concrete structures, such as reinforcement design, material selection, casting sequences and 3D model coordination. Identify and plan technically, economically and production-optimized structural solutions. Review and evaluate technical solutions and propose alternative designs when needed. Ensure that solutions are adapted to the projects' production conditions and buildability. Participate in review of documents based on buildability and applicable requirements. Support production and construction management during the execution phase regarding deviations, changes and technical issues. Participate in technical dialogues and development of decision-making materials. Identify problem areas and provide advice on preventive and corrective measures. Competence Requirements 1. Academic education in construction/civil engineering of 300 hp (Civil Engineer) or equivalent combination of education and experience. 2. At least 10 years documented experience of structural work in construction projects with concrete structures. 3. At least 5 years documented experience designing concrete structures for contractors during the past 10 years within design-build or construction management contracts with high degree of design parallelism. 4. Experience with production-critical structural details such as reinforcement solutions, material selection, casting sequences and 3D model coordination with focus on buildability. 5. At least 5 years documented experience providing technical support to contractors during the construction phase in at least one construction project with a project cost exceeding 1 billion SEK. 6. Good knowledge of Eurocodes and their application in Sweden. 7. Good knowledge of Trafikverket's technical regulations, particularly TRVK Bro 11 and TRVK Tunnel 11. 8. Good communication skills in Swedish and English, both spoken and written. 9. Good knowledge of Microsoft Office. Added Value Requirements 1. At least 3 years documented experience providing technical support to contractors or clients during the construction phase in at least one construction project with support structures in concrete (slurry walls and secant piles) for deep excavations in soft clay in complex urban environments. 2. At least 3 years documented experience providing technical support to contractors or clients during the construction phase in at least one construction project with concrete structures containing tunnel and/or trough structures with a project cost exceeding 1 billion SEK. Assignment Information Assignment Start: No later than 2026-10-01, with possibility of earlier start after contract execution. Assignment Period: First two contract years with possibility of options. Scope: Approximately 50-100% of annual working time during the first two contract years, with varying assignment load. Placement Location: Gothenburg. Travel to the client's project office in Gothenburg occurs as needed by the assignment.
