The Division of Degrees and Credential Assessment The Student and Education Section provides service and administrative support within the educational field and works toward a good working environment for students. The Division of Degrees and Credential Assessment is responsible for handling the majority of the university's degrees at all three levels. We provide support in degree evaluation matters to employees and students, have a central function for assessing genuine competence for credit recognition, and hold process responsibility for the section's records management. The division also includes work within the virtual organization (VO) for assessment of foreign credentials. The division consists of seven administrators and a division manager. The Degrees and Credential Assessment division has conducted extensive digitalization work in recent years, and this work will continue. Since the majority of degree applications are processed at the end of the spring term, summer vacation is planned for a maximum of four weeks – in accordance with statutory rights under the collective agreement. Job Responsibilities As a Degree Administrator at Lund University, you will, among other things, process degree applications. As an administrator, you have authority to issue and reject degree requests. This delegation carries significant responsibility and therefore demands accuracy and a keen eye for detail. Work with public authority also requires that you comply with the Administrative Procedure Act and other relevant laws and regulations that govern operations. The work with degree processing primarily uses the study administration system Ladok, and the W3D3 system is used for record management. You will answer incoming inquiries from students, university staff, and the general public, both via email and phone. This requires a high level of service and excellent knowledge of both Swedish and English, in speech and writing. Other tasks that are part of the division's mission and may be included in the position include processing of credit recognition for genuine competence, record management and archiving, follow-ups and statistics, assessment of foreign credentials, and development of the student service function, with a focus on service and digitalization. Job responsibilities may vary over time. Qualifications Requirements for employment: Academic degree. At least one year of current experience in educational administrative work within degrees or admissions, or at least one year of current experience in administrative work that the employer considers relevant for the position. Current experience providing professional service via email and telephone in both Swedish and English with a focus on quality and professional conduct, including the ability to decline clearly, factually, and respectfully. Experience working with educational administrative tasks in Ladok. Experience applying laws, regulations, and policies in case processing. Knowledge of and experience with exercising public authority. Excellent proficiency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written. Documented good collaboration skills. You enjoy structured case processing and independent work, while also having strong ability to collaborate and actively contribute to shared work processes. Service and professional conduct are self-evident to you, and you communicate clearly and trustworthily in both speech and writing. Since the work involves exercising public authority, it is important that you have a good understanding of what this demands and that you act with high personal integrity and good judgment. We place great emphasis on personal suitability. Merits for employment: Experience with credential assessment. Experience working with the W3D3 record management system. Current experience coordinating service to applicants and students. Knowledge of and experience with exercising public authority related to the Administrative Procedure Act and the Higher Education Ordinance. Interest in digital development work. Other Information This is a permanent position at 80% with a start date of November 1 or by agreement. A 6-month probationary period may apply to this position. The Student and Education Section provides service and administrative support within the educational field and works toward a good working environment for students. The section provides support to students regarding study-related health and wellness, help with study techniques, academic writing, targeted pedagogical support for students with disabilities, and Supplemental Instruction (SI). The section's area of responsibility also includes admissions, degree conferral, and study documentation with supporting systems. Additionally, the section works to evaluate and develop methods for quality assurance of the university's educational programs. The section is system owner for several study administration support systems, including Lubas and Sunet Survey. The section also has local system responsibility for Ladok and the admissions system NyA. The section consists of approximately 100 employees, organized in the departments of Admissions, Degrees, Student Health, Student Support and Learning, Study Administration Systems, and Educational Strategy Support.
