We are looking for a social and customer-focused design engineer who thrives in close dialogue with customers, suppliers, and internal teams. You build relationships easily, identify needs, and translate them into smart technical solutions.
DUTIES
As a design engineer for our client, you will develop and improve the company's products with a focus on innovation, functionality, quality, and cost-effectiveness. The role contributes directly to the company's strategic goals by driving development projects from idea to finished product, in close collaboration with other departments, customers, and suppliers. We are open to both those at the beginning of your engineering career and those with extensive experience. Regardless of whether your background is in design and/or product development, you are welcome to submit your application.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
Carry out and ensure progress in design process activities to meet customer needs regarding adaptation/modification of existing products as well as some new design work.
Implement and drive activities in the product development process for new products and further development of existing ones.
Ensure that products meet requirements for quality, safety, functionality, durability, and legislation.
Participate in prototype development, testing, and verification.
Contribute improvement suggestions and drive innovation and improvement work.
Represent R&D in cross-functional teams and in customer and supplier dialogues.

PERSONAL QUALITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
You have post-secondary education in mechanical engineering, product development, or equivalent, as well as experience in product development and/or mechanical design. You are familiar with product development processes, prototype work, and verification, and enjoy working cross-functionally.
In this role, you are an important link between customers, suppliers, production, and internal teams. Through clear communication and strong relationships, you drive development forward and identify needs and opportunities. With a holistic view and understanding of the product's lifecycle, you work proactively, solve problems early, and contribute insights that strengthen both projects and operations.
As a person, you work with a customer and solution-focused mindset, with good structure and analytical ability as important parts of your work approach. You have a strong sense of responsibility and inner drive, which enables you to both initiate and complete your tasks to a high quality. Receiving and sharing knowledge is also something you value highly.
It is meritorious if you have experience from the manufacturing industry, knowledge of material selection, and mechanical strength. Experience with Inventor and/or Monitor is meritorious, but not a requirement. You are fluent in Swedish and English and hold a valid driver's license (category B).

ABOUT THE POSITION
The design engineer position is a full-time consulting assignment that is initially for 6–12 months. You will be employed by Eterni Sweden AB and work as a consultant for our client.
