JOB DUTIES
One of our skilled senior teachers has been offered a project position at our department and will therefore be on leave for the remainder of school year 26/27. We are now seeking a highly competent and engaged substitute to fill his shoes!
You will teach Social Studies, History, and Religious Studies at primary school level. You will also serve as a resource to a teacher colleague in certain lessons, as we maintain double staffing in our groups to the greatest extent possible. Mentorship for a maximum of ten students is also part of the position.
You will participate in the unit's development work, which during the current school year focuses on the social learning environment and developing mentorship to improve attendance. You will also participate in meetings every week with the school's student health team and other staff.
QUALIFICATIONS
To thrive with us and our students, you need to have commitment beyond the ordinary! You think outside the box, are inventive in your teaching, and adapt it to the students' needs, which can look very different. Having high relational competence that you implement in relational pedagogy is a prerequisite for meeting our students, who often feel let down by the adult world and school. You are flexible, empathetic, yet a clear leader in the classroom. Humor and spontaneity can be other valuable qualities.
You are a certified primary or secondary school teacher in at least one social studies subject. If the other subjects are not covered by your certification, you need to have experience teaching them. It is desirable that you have experience teaching students in need of special support, sometimes extensive support. It is meritorious if you have good English skills since you may need to communicate in English with students who are newly arrived and in Language Introduction.
