Experienced Railway Project Engineer - Göteborg We are seeking an experienced railway project engineer for Trafikverket in the Investment Business Area, Western Region. The assignment involves supporting project managers in planning, administration, management and monitoring of railway projects, as well as contributing to project delivery regarding schedule, cost, quality and risk. The duty station is Göteborg and the assignment requires physical presence at Trafikverket's office five days per week. The assignment is scheduled to start on 2026-10-08 or as soon as possible after contract signature. The assignment runs until 2027-12-31 with the possibility of extension through options. The utilization rate is 100%. During the first month, a utilization rate of at least 50% is accepted to enable phasing out of other assignments. About the Company Trafikverket is the responsible authority for long-term planning of the transport system in Sweden. The organization works to develop, manage and ensure sustainable and efficient infrastructure for road and rail transport. About the Role As a railway project engineer, you will support one or more project managers in implementing complex infrastructure projects. The role encompasses both strategic and operational tasks within project management, finance, planning, risk management, procurement and administration. You will be part of the project organization within Trafikverket's investment operations in the Western Region and will collaborate with both internal functions and external consultants, contractors and other stakeholders. Role and Responsibilities Support project managers in planning, management and monitoring of projects. Create and monitor project management documentation. Coordinate and prepare matters within the project organization. Manage and monitor the project schedule. Report schedules, milestone dates and project status. Responsible for financial management, forecasts, invoice handling and financial monitoring. Coordinate requirements management and internal control programs. Manage and monitor the project's risk work and risk reserves. Support in procurement and development of tender documentation. Manage communication with external stakeholders and internal functions. Take minutes and notes at meetings. Handle documentation, filing and administrative project support. Create presentations, compilations and reports. Participate in meetings with consultants and contractors. Contribute to knowledge transfer to Trafikverket employees. Required Qualifications 1. Academic education with technical focus of at least 120 credits in economics, engineering or construction, or equivalent competence. 2. At least 5 years of experience within the past 7 years as project engineer, contract engineer, project coordinator or project economist in infrastructure projects. 3. At least 5 years of experience in risk management, scheduling and financial management in projects. 4. At least 3 years of experience in independent minute-taking in projects. 5. Certification according to TDOK 2018:0371 APV, at least level 2.2, or the possibility to obtain certification within two months after contract signature. 6. Certification according to TDOK 2020:0218 BASÄVISTA, or the possibility to obtain certification within two months after contract signature. 7. Driver's license for passenger car. 8. Very good knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite. 9. Very good communication skills in Swedish, both spoken and written. 10. Good collaboration skills, initiative and ability to work in a structured and independent manner. Desirable Qualifications 1. Experience from working within Trafikverket's project organization. 2. Experience with Trafikverket's system support for finance, schedule and project management. 3. Experience with procurement and call-off within public operations.
