About the Position:
As an Automation Engineer at DevPort, you will work on varied assignments where you take technical responsibility through all or parts of the automation chain, from analysis and system design to programming, testing, and deployment. You work independently or in teams and have an important role in developing robust, secure, and future-proof automation solutions for our customers.
Responsibilities
PLC programming according to IEC 61131-3 (ST, FBD, LAD)
Development and configuration of control systems within Siemens (TIA Portal, Step 7, WinCC) and/or ABB (Control Builder, AC800M, 800xA)
SCADA and HMI development
Integration of industrial networks and communication protocols such as PROFINET, PROFIBUS, Modbus TCP/RTU, and OPC UA
Signal configuration, I/O management, sequence control, and PID regulation
FAT/SAT, verification, validation, and commissioning
Troubleshooting, optimization, and further development of automation systems
Preparation of technical documentation, such as functional descriptions, I/O lists, and system documentation
Close collaboration with customers, suppliers, and other technical disciplines
We are Looking for You:
Have at least 7 years of experience as an automation engineer in industrial environments
Have solid experience in PLC programming within Siemens and/or ABB
Have experience with SCADA and HMI systems
Have a good understanding of industrial processes, control engineering, and control strategies
Have experience with FAT/SAT, commissioning, and troubleshooting in production or process facilities
Enjoy customer-facing roles and can work independently with significant technical responsibility
Have post-secondary education in automation, mechatronics, electrical engineering, or equivalent
Communicate fluently in Swedish and English
Additional Merits:
Experience with Safety PLC systems, such as Siemens F-system
Experience with ABB 800xA, Ignition, or iFIX
Knowledge of industrial IT and networks
Experience with Git or other version control
Experience with simulation and virtual commissioning
Experience from the automotive industry, energy, process industry, or advanced manufacturing
Experience with robot automation, production equipment, or technical leadership
