Would you like a broad and development-focused role where you can help create structure, drive improvements, and support projects from bid to completion? Västernorrlands Industrimontage AB is now seeking a construction engineer who wants to become an important part of their continued growth. About VIMAB Västernorrlands Industrimontage AB was founded in 2016 and has its headquarters in Sundsvall. The company offers services in steel contracting, process contracting, and mechanical contracting. VIMAB has a strong corporate culture and strives to be an attractive employer in its industry, emphasizing flexibility, solution-oriented thinking, and a positive work environment in its work and customer relations. About the Role The construction engineer role involves providing important support throughout the contracting process, from bid and project start to implementation, follow-up, and closure. The focus is on creating structure, following up on requirements and deadlines, and providing project managers with the right basis to successfully drive projects. The role includes contract and project administration, documentation, change order management, commercial follow-up, and support in estimation and bid work. An important part is also coordinating and following up on quality, environment, and health & safety (KMA) work. The construction engineer also contributes to business development by improving working methods, templates, and project structures, as well as developing the use of digital systems. The role functions as a hub that keeps information together and ensures that important matters don't fall through the cracks, without taking over the project manager's responsibility. In the long term, there is an opportunity to develop the role and take greater independent responsibility in areas such as estimation, commercial project follow-up, construction law, KMA, and business development. Your Profile We are looking for someone who is organized, thorough, and solution-oriented, and who enjoys creating order and clarity in a project-oriented operation. You easily grasp complex information and can see both details and the bigger picture. You are accustomed to following up on matters, meeting deadlines, and ensuring that the right information is in the right place. To succeed in the role, you need to be communicative and comfortable collaborating with different functions. You will have many contact points and therefore need to feel comfortable communicating with, for example, project managers, customers, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal departments. We would like you to have experience from the construction, contracting, industrial, or installation sector and an understanding of how projects are conducted from bid to completion. Requirements Experience from contracting, industrial, construction, or installation operations, or alternatively post-secondary education in construction, industry, or contracting Good computer skills and experience with digital operations and project management systems Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written Good knowledge of construction law (AB and ABT) Good administrative and organizational ability Valid driver's license (Category B) Desirable Experience with change order management, notifications, and commercial project follow-up Experience working within quality, environment, and occupational health & safety Experience with quantity surveying, cost summaries, or supplier and subcontractor quotes Experience with internal audits or business development Other Information Start date: By agreement Scope: 100% Type of engagement: Permanent employment (probation period applies) Location: Sundsvall Application deadline: September 28. You apply for the position by answering a few questions and attaching your CV or linking your LinkedIn profile. Candidates who meet the basic requirements will receive a link to a personality test and a logical reasoning test. Read more about why we use tests in our recruiting here.
