Authority operations within Support and Care has approximately 270 employees who, with various expertise, are responsible for investigating and monitoring interventions for adults, children, and youth.
The Financial Assistance Unit works with families and individuals who apply for economic assistance as support for their livelihood. We develop our activities together with others, internally and externally, to provide the best possible support to individuals so they can achieve self-sufficiency and independence. We provide information about rights and obligations and investigate eligibility for economic assistance.
We are now looking for a Unit Manager for Financial Assistance to lead and develop the unit for coordinated, legally sound, and professional authority operations that meet citizens' needs through new working methods. Are you the person we're looking for?
Your responsibilities
Within the Financial Assistance Unit, there are two unit managers, each responsible for their own work team. You work in close collaboration with your fellow manager within financial assistance and other colleagues in authority operations, tasked with coordinating interventions around the individual from a holistic perspective. As a unit manager, you have employer responsibility for operations, finances, and personnel, and you participate in the assistant operations manager's management group. You have overall responsibility for ensuring that work is conducted in accordance with the laws, regulations, and guidelines that govern the operations.
Together with your employees, safety representatives, and fellow managers, you work continuously on workplace environment issues and maintaining a good work environment in the unit. The role also includes driving, planning, evaluating, analyzing, and developing the operational area to meet the target group's needs and future challenges. You have support functions to assist you in areas such as finance, quality, and workplace environment. You participate in various steering groups and working groups connected to your assignment and have an important role in good cooperation with other units/operations both within and outside the municipality.
About you
We are looking for someone who:
has a degree in social work or equivalent education
has several years of experience in authority work within social services
It is an advantage if you have previous experience working as a manager.
You are interested in both leadership and social work and prioritize citizen benefit. You have experience with change management. To succeed in this role, you are a present manager and a natural role model. You are attentive, well-organized, and have the ability to leverage your employees' drive, resources, and willingness to develop. You create good relationships and trust by being clear and respectful, fostering mutual confidence with your employees. You place particular emphasis on a good cooperation climate both internally and externally, and you communicate well in Swedish, both verbally and in writing. Great importance is placed on your personal qualities.
