Job Description The Addiction and Acute Psychiatry department serves individuals with substance use disorders with or without concurrent psychiatric issues. The operation is organized in care pathways with outpatient and inpatient care working closely together around patients. The operation consists of several specialist units, and some clinics are run in collaboration with personnel from social services. A psychiatric emergency clinic is also part of the department. LARO services operate at three locations in Gothenburg. We are now seeking a unit manager for LARO Clinics 1 and 2 in Högsbo. LARO is an acronym for medication-assisted rehabilitation for opioid dependence. The foundation of treatment is medication-based treatment complemented by psychosocial and psychological interventions. Collaboration with municipalities is an important part of treatment, as the social situation is crucial for treatment success. The unit manager supervises the following professional categories at the unit: nurses, healthcare assistants, social workers, psychologists, and medical secretaries. The administrative organization is under review and supervisory responsibility for medical secretaries may change. Responsibilities As a care unit manager, you have personnel, budget, and workplace environment responsibilities. You are expected to drive the development of the unit and work to create a good workplace where employees feel community, thrive, and develop to provide the best possible care for our patients. In your role as unit manager, you will also be part of the Addiction and Acute Psychiatry leadership team, where you are expected to play an active role in developing the department. You may also be assigned responsibility for broader areas across the entire operation. The position is broad with many contact points and offers good opportunities for development—both in your professional role and as a person. The position entails a fixed-term five-year management appointment with permanent employment in your base profession. Qualifications We are looking for someone with relevant higher education or substantial professional experience. An academic background such as a master's degree or doctoral education is a merit. Experience from psychiatric acute care and collaboration with other authorities—social services and the correctional system—is advantageous. It is a merit if you have worked several years as a manager and have experience driving change and development initiatives. To succeed in a management role with us, we see that you are driven, have good communication skills, and high integrity. You build relationships easily, show others respect, and have the ability to create participation and value others' ideas. Based on the department's goals, you are expected to set clear objectives for the unit and employees and communicate and follow up on goals in a clear and structured manner. The work requires quick decision-making ability, courage, systematic thinking, and planning skills. Working in shared management requires good collaboration skills and the ability to reflect on your own leadership. Personal suitability is weighted heavily.
