Unit Manager IT Architecture and IT Security at Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences

Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) is seeking an experienced and strategic leader for a key role in SLU's future security and architecture work. You will shape and lead the university's continued efforts in IT security and IT architecture – two areas that are interconnected and together determine how robust, cohesive and fit-for-purpose SLU's digital environment is. About the job As a unit manager, you have personnel and budget responsibility for the unit and are part of the management group for the IT department. The role is strategically important to SLU and has significant influence on how we structure and manage our IT environment and how we protect it. You will be instrumental in developing the university's IT security and architecture governance and ensuring that SLU's systems and solutions are interconnected in a way that is both robust and secure. Your leadership and expertise will shape how the university approaches security and architecture in the years to come. You report to the university's IT Director. Responsibilities Lead and develop the unit for IT architecture and IT security, with personnel, work environment and budget responsibility Actively participate in the management group of the IT department and contribute to the IT department's overall strategy and priorities Lead the work to develop and implement long-term strategies for IT security and IT architecture in line with SLU's objectives and operations Serve as an internal expert, advisor and collaborative partner regarding IT security Drive collaboration with other parts of the IT department, legal, security and other functions within the university on both security and architecture matters Your background We are looking for someone who has: A relevant academic education in IT or equivalent qualifications that we assess as equivalent, as well as at least five years of experience with IT security issues Documented experience of leading and driving change work within IT security Experience with personnel and/or budget responsibility, or other documented experience of leadership Broad technical expertise in network security, systems security and application security Knowledge of IT architecture and understanding of how a university's overall system landscape and integrations are interconnected Experience working with regulatory compliance and standards Very good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written Meritorious Previous experience as a manager with personnel and budget responsibility Relevant certifications in IT security Experience from academic environments or the public sector Experience in security architecture and security concepts Knowledge of cyber threats, threat hunting and incident management Experience in penetration testing and vulnerability management Experience in architecture governance, standards and technology selection Experience in change work within IT architecture Project management training and experience with project models such as PPS You as a person We place great emphasis on your personal qualities.
