Do you want to lead a department that makes a difference for people on their path toward financial independence and increased participation in society? As a unit manager for social support services, you'll take on an important and developmental role where you contribute to both individual development and continued organizational growth. You'll be a central part of efforts to strengthen quality, collaboration, and results within employment and social support services. Your Responsibilities As a unit manager for social support services, you lead, develop, and monitor operations based on the municipality's goals, values, and politically determined priorities. You have budget, personnel, work environment, and operational responsibility, and you ensure that activities are conducted with high quality, good legal certainty, and a clear citizen focus. The role includes creating conditions for employees to succeed in their positions while ensuring that operations develop in line with changing needs and circumstances. You participate in the department's management group and work closely with other unit managers to take collective responsibility for the whole. The role involves extensive collaboration, both internally and externally, with entities such as Arbetsförmedlingen, Försäkringskassan, education providers, and other societal actors. You drive development and change initiatives, create sustainable working methods, and help strengthen collaboration between the department's various operations. In this role, you're expected to help more municipal residents achieve financial independence and establishment in the labor market. You actively work to ensure legally sound processing of financial assistance while developing services and methods that strengthen individuals' opportunities for employment, independence, and participation in society. You also contribute to developing a learning and development-oriented organization where quality, collaboration, and continuous improvement are natural parts of daily work. Your Qualifications We're looking for an experienced and confident leader with the ability to create engagement, direction, and results in an organization with an important public mission. You have an interest in developing both operations and people and thrive in a role where you combine present leadership with strategic development work. You have good understanding of public sector operations and can translate legislation, political decisions, and organizational goals into clear and sustainable leadership. The role requires the ability to lead through change, create participation, and build good collaboration both internally and externally. Given the nature of the assignment, we particularly value the ability to be clear, communicative, and confident in your leadership. Requirements: - Relevant academic education such as social work studies, behavioral science education, pedagogical education, or other education deemed equivalent by the employer - Knowledge of social law - Several years of experience in authority functions within social work - Several years of experience in management positions with personnel responsibility - Good knowledge of social law, administrative law, and the new Social Services Act - Strong ability to express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish - Category B driver's license Meritorious: - Experience with financial assistance - Leadership education - Good knowledge of the Work Environment Act and its requirements - Experience with quality and development work - Experience with change management - Knowledge of activity requirements in social services work - Knowledge of BIP/SKAPA What We Offer We offer you an exciting, important, and developmental assignment where you have the opportunity to contribute to continued organizational development. Additional Information & About the Recruitment Process Selection work begins when the advertisement period ends. If you meet the requirements, you'll complete tests, followed by a phone consultation, competency-based interview, and finally a candidate meeting with union involvement. We always take references from final candidates. Competency interviews are scheduled for 12/10 on-site and possibly the morning of 14/10, followed by a candidate meeting with union involvement on-site at another time.
