The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care (Statens institutionsstyrelse, SiS) is a government agency responsible for individualized compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial problems and for adults with substance abuse issues. We admit clients with mental health problems and clients requiring medical care. We have operations in Lund. Job Description: As a Unit Manager, you have operational responsibility, budget responsibility, and personnel responsibility for your unit's employees. Together with your group leader, who handles day-to-day operations, you lead and distribute work within your unit. You are part of the institution's management group where you share responsibility for the overall operations. You lead and drive unit work toward established goals and are responsible within the unit for working environment, personnel, care and operational development, and budget. You are also responsible for the unit's contacts with external actors such as social services. As Unit Manager, you are primarily responsible for ensuring that day-to-day operations run smoothly and that treatment staff are provided with the right conditions to perform their duties in a qualitative manner. The role includes tasks such as conducting risk assessments, developing action plans, maintaining routines and implemented decisions. You will coordinate and follow up on the unit's resources to ensure planned activities are completed. The role also includes some client-facing work tasks, although your group leader is primarily responsible for leading the unit's treatment staff operationally. You participate in the institution's management on-call rotation. This recruitment concerns the Höje unit, where women are primarily cared for, but it is a flexible ward that can be adjusted to care for men when needed. Additionally, Höje is responsible for parts of the institution's specially reinforced ward. On our specially reinforced ward, we care for clients who, in addition to substance abuse issues, also have aggressive behavior/serious self-harm and have shown difficulties being cared for with others. Clients cared for on this ward have a neuropsychiatric disability at the core, primarily autism, intellectual disability, or similar difficulties. Clients with psychosis issues may also be cared for on this ward. Qualifications: To fit the role, you need good prerequisites for exercising good leadership. You should also have: Academic education of 180 hp in social and behavioral sciences, health care science, or another direction that the employer deems adequate for the position. Work experience: Documented management and leadership experience is required. Experience from work with compulsory care of adults is a merit, as is experience with SiS operations. Knowledge: Good ability to express yourself well, both verbally and in writing, in Swedish. You have knowledge of LVM care guidelines and applicable legislation. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability. Employment: The position is a permanent full-time employment beginning with a six-month probationary period. Desired start date December 21.
