About the Position At the Swedish Defense Materiel Administration (FMV), we work in cross-functional projects where lawyers, procurement specialists, engineers, economists, and other professionals together solve complex issues and find solutions. This means you don't just interpret regulations – you help the project understand what's possible and how we can achieve it in the best way. As a commercial lawyer, you provide qualified legal support in the implementation of procurements and in the drafting and negotiation of contracts. This includes reviewing and assisting in the preparation of procurement documents and contract materials, providing legal advice, and participating in negotiations with both Swedish and international suppliers. You also handle appeals and disputes and may represent the agency in various legal proceedings. The role offers great variety and an international perspective. You participate in the agency's various collaborations with Swedish authorities, foreign authorities, and international organizations within the framework of research, development, and procurement projects. In these contexts, in addition to commercial legal matters with an international perspective, there are also issues related to EU law, constitutional law, international law, and administrative law. As a lawyer with us, you are also expected to contribute to developing both operations and legal governance. You monitor and analyze legal precedents, educate colleagues on legal matters, and develop, for example, standard clauses, templates, and governance documents. You will also handle referrals and legal questions from the government and other authorities. The position is based in Stockholm. Business travel within Sweden and abroad will occur. About You We are looking for someone with a law degree of 270 hp or a law graduate degree. You have relevant and several years of practical experience in legal work within civil law and public procurement. The position requires very good knowledge of both Swedish and English, spoken and written. It is an asset if you have practical experience with public procurement in the defense sector with application of LUFS. We consider it an advantage if you have practical experience working with commercial legal matters in an international context. It is meriting if you have negotiation experience. If you have completed legal training (notariemeritering), we consider that an asset, as well as if you have experience working at a state agency. We also see it as positive if you have worked with international cooperation between states and international organizations. It is also an asset if you have experience with appeals processes. You have good judgment and are accustomed to working with complex matters. The position also requires the ability to communicate information and knowledge clearly and pedagogically to others.
