Welcome to us The Infrastructure Department consists of six units with a total of approximately 85 employees. The department has a broad area of operation. In addition to implementing the Traffic Office's major investment projects, the department is responsible for ensuring through maintenance and reinvestment that bridges, tunnels, traffic signals and public lighting maintain their functions and develop to meet the needs of the growing city. The position of Electrical Engineer is located in the Traffic Technology unit, where 18 employees are responsible for management, operation and maintenance as well as new construction and renovation of traffic signals and other IoT devices in the street space, such as cameras, sensors, traffic data stations and digital signs. Within the unit there is expertise in project management, procurement, electrical design and programming of technical equipment with associated control and monitoring systems. The unit is also responsible for monitoring the external environment within the technology areas that the unit manages and participates in development projects to contribute to the development of future traffic solutions. Your role In your role as an electrical engineer with us, you will join a unit where everyone takes time to help each other and has fun together. We now need reinforcement and are looking for you who wants to work with designing renovation and new construction of traffic signals and other traffic technical systems. You work independently with design in a CAD environment in the programs DpCom, Microstation and Autocad. You will also be a team member in large projects and often with coordination management work. You will collaborate with the project managers in the unit as well as with other stakeholders within the department. You have several projects running simultaneously, some of which are ongoing for several years. Others are shorter-term processes but both are characterized by occasional intensive periods. This requires structure and that you work in a goal-oriented manner with a desire to achieve results. Much of the work takes place at the Traffic Office, but sometimes you are expected to take one of our cars to facilities and project offices in the city. Your competence and experience We are looking for you who have • education in electrical work that we find relevant for the position, such as upper secondary education or vocational training with a focus on electrical work • current several years of experience as an electrical engineer/designer in areas such as lighting, traffic signals or cable installation in the ground • worked with AMA electrical/installation for quantity and technical descriptions • worked in CAD environment and good IT skills • B driver's license It is meritorious if you also have • experience in electrical design for traffic signals • practical experience working with traffic signals in the field As a person you need to be self-driven, used to managing your own time and driving your work forward. Accustomed to handling multiple matters simultaneously, you work in a structured and goal-oriented manner with a desire to achieve results. You find it easy to focus on details but you constantly have the ability to see the long-term significance of things. In work with people and technology, unexpected situations always arise and therefore good collaboration skills, great patience, flexibility and focus on solutions are needed.
