Job Description At AFRY Advanced Automation in Västerås, we are developing some of Sweden's most exciting industrial and automation projects. Our customers are investing in modernization, digitalization and new production facilities, creating a growing need for qualified electrical design expertise. We are now looking for an experienced electrical design engineer who wants to take a central role in our projects and contribute with technical expertise throughout the entire project lifecycle. With us, you will have the opportunity to combine technical depth with significant personal responsibility in assignments ranging from feasibility studies and system design to installation, commissioning and handover. Your Role; From Idea to Operational Facility As a senior electrical design engineer, you will work with industrial automation and electrical systems where you are responsible for developing technical solutions with high quality, safety and functionality. You will be an important part of our multidisciplinary project teams and collaborate closely with automation engineers, project managers, process engineers and customers. Depending on the scope of the project, you may be responsible for the entire electrical design delivery or serve as a specialist within specific technical areas. The role offers great variety and the opportunity to influence both technical solutions and working methods. You will work with, among other things: Electrical design for industrial facilities and automation projects Development of technical documentation, circuit diagrams and facility specifications Design of power, control and automation systems Technical coordination with other disciplines within the project organization Review and quality assurance of technical solutions Commissioning, testing and verification at the customer site Dialogue with customers, suppliers and contractors Mentorship and knowledge sharing with junior colleagues Why AFRY? Qualifications We are looking for you who are results-oriented, focused on achieving goals and maintaining productivity even when challenges arise. You have good problem-solving skills, handle complex situations and use your experience flexibly. Furthermore, you are proactive, make your own decisions and act confidently even when everything is not planned in detail. Requirements Work Experience: At least 5 years of relevant experience in electrical design within industrial production facilities Education: Relevant formal education in electrical/electrical design/electrical engineering, or equivalent practical experience System Knowledge: Experience with AutoCAD tools Ability to handle and understand customer requirements and documentation systems EPC ElMaster Language Skills: Swedish and English, spoken and written Merits Work Experience: Experience working in project form Experience with automation projects related to industrial drive systems Process experience from manufacturing industry, process industry and water utilities Education: Engineering degree in electrical/electrical design/electrical engineering with industrial focus System Knowledge: Elprocad EPLAN Sitebase AutoCAD Electrical E3 Insyde Additional Information Last application date is 2026-09-30.
