The Student Services Department in Helsingborg has launched a new targeted initiative to further strengthen support for the city's primary schools. We are therefore seeking 2 special education teachers with specialization primarily in mathematics development or in language, reading and writing development who want to contribute their expertise where needs are greatest. The investment in central special education teacher positions aims to use expertise strategically and benefit multiple schools and students. You will have the opportunity to work directly with students in prioritized school environments and receive collegial support and mentoring within Student Services. You will have the opportunity to be part of a new initiative that has just started where we together plan and set strategy for the work. Work Responsibilities As a special education teacher in this initiative, you are employed within the Student Services department and are periodically placed at prioritized primary schools where the need for special education teacher expertise is particularly great. The selection of schools is based on analyses of, among other things, grade results, assessment materials, pedagogical investigations and dialogues with the city's school principals. The interventions are time-bound and goal-oriented and run for at least one term. At the end of the term, a joint evaluation of the intervention is conducted based on the goals established at the start. If the need remains, the assignment can be extended for another term. If the assignment is not extended, you will be placed at another school with a need for your expertise. Assignment Content Assignments vary depending on school needs and may include: working directly with individual students or groups of students working with students in a specific class supporting students in specialized instruction groups Direct student work is central to the assignment, while you are expected to work closely with teachers, special education specialists and school leadership at the relevant school. The work is structured and conducted in close dialogue with the principal of the school(s) involved and the unit manager within Student Services. Together you will clarify goals, follow up on interventions and participate in evaluations. Qualifications We are looking for someone who: is trained as a special education teacher with specialization in language, writing and reading development or mathematics development, holds teaching certification for primary school, has experience working as a special education teacher, is flexible and has good collaboration skills, has a curious and development-oriented approach, is motivated to work goal-oriented with clear follow-up, has experience removing barriers to student learning.
