Pilträdsskolan is an independent school with approximately 325 students that emphasizes knowledge, safety, and each student's unique value. The school was founded in 1994 and provides instruction in grades F-9 as well as after-school activities. Adjacent to the school is Pilträdets preschool for children ages 1-5. We are now seeking someone who wants to work as a student assistant at the school supporting students with autism/ADHD/diabetes. You will work alongside student(s) in the classroom and sometimes in small groups or one-on-one. You will also collaborate with the educator in the class. Your primary responsibility is to provide support to students in pre-school. You will be present throughout the entire school day, and your role is to be a safe, motivating adult who helps students participate in instruction, maintain focus, and feel included both in the classroom, during breaks, and in after-school activities. You provide support in both schoolwork and social situations. The position also includes being a natural link in daily communication between home and school. You have strong commitment and a desire to give children a meaningful school day where they can succeed. You are responsible, independent, take initiative, and have good collaboration skills. We believe that personal development as well as continuous organizational development are natural parts of Pilträdsskolan. Therefore, you as a person should be interested in developing yourself as well as the students and the school. We are seeking someone who is trained as a childcare worker, student assistant, or has other relevant education. Experience working with students in special needs programs and low-stimulus interaction approaches is desirable.
