Registration No. 90000012827, Daugavas iela 29, Mārupe, Mārupes novads, LV-2167 Mārupes novads Municipal Central Administration Finance and Accounting Department invites applications for an indefinite-term position ECONOMIST (profession code 2631 02) Position Requirements and Necessary Knowledge: higher education in finance or economics; experience of at least two years of professional work in state or municipal institutions during the last five years will be considered an advantage; good knowledge and ability to navigate regulatory acts related to municipal budget planning, execution, financial management, and job duties; understanding of budget planning, execution, monitoring, and financial control processes; ability to analyze financial and economic indicators, assess deviations, identify trends, and prepare substantiated conclusions; ability to perform economic and financial calculations, cost analysis, and fee-based service pricing calculations; ability to work with large volumes of data, structure, process, analyze, and visualize them; excellent MS Excel proficiency, including use of formulas and functions, data sorting and filtering, conditional formatting, pivot table creation, charts, and analytical report preparation; desired user skills in the accounting software "HORIZON" and budget planning software "Microstrategy"; ability to quickly learn new information systems, digital tools, and their functionality; knowledge of the state language at an advanced level; analytical and systemic thinking, ability to identify patterns in data and financial processes; precision, high sense of responsibility, and focus on quality results; ability to independently analyze problem situations, propose solutions, and substantiate opinions; initiative and focus on improving and streamlining work processes; good communication and collaboration skills, ability to work in a team; ability to independently plan work, set priorities, and meet deadlines. Main Job Duties: participate in preparation of the municipal budget project and budget amendments, including evaluating budget requests and estimates submitted by institutions; conduct budget execution monitoring and control of municipal institutions, analyze deviations between planned and actual execution, and prepare proposals for necessary changes; prepare financial and economic information, analytical reports, calculations, and summaries for management decision-making; participate in preparation of the municipal public report, internal regulatory acts, and other financial planning documents; calculate fee-based service pricing, assess the substantiation of costs used in calculations, and ensure regular updates of pricing; collect, structure, and analyze financial data using Excel and other data analysis tools, and improve and automate regularly performed data processing processes; maintain current information on contracts concluded by municipal institutions in resource management systems; within the scope of competence, cooperate with municipal institutions and structural units on financial planning, budget execution, and economic calculation matters.
