About the operations The Municipal Administration is the support and staff administration of the Municipal Executive Board. The administration brings together several cross-municipal functions and has an important role in creating direction, coordination and implementation power throughout the organization. The Finance Department is responsible for the municipality's financial planning, budget, monitoring, analysis, accounting and financial statements. The department provides qualified support to the municipality's operations, managers, municipal leadership and elected officials. We are in an exciting development phase where we are strengthening our management and governance, developing our working methods and creating better conditions to translate political goals into action. As Finance Manager, you will have a central role in the continued development. Responsibilities As Finance Manager, you lead the Finance Department and are responsible for operations, finances, personnel, working environment and development. You create direction, structure and good conditions for employees and develop together with them the municipality's financial management and financial processes. We are looking for a manager who is present in daily operations, communicates clearly and creates participation. You lead with trust and clear expectations, provide feedback and make use of employees' competence and drive. The assignment encompasses three perspectives: leading and developing the Finance Department, contributing to the joint assignment of the Municipal Administration and taking responsibility for cross-municipal issues. You are part of the Municipal Administration's management group and contribute to joint management, prioritization and development. At the cross-municipal level, you lead, coordinate and develop work with financial planning, budget, monitoring, analysis, accounting and financial statements. You contribute a long-term economic perspective and clarify the connection between finances, operations and political goals. You make complex financial issues understandable and are a qualified sparring partner to managers, municipal leadership and elected officials in preparation for decisions and prioritizations. You also develop working methods, processes and decision-making materials that strengthen the municipality's long-term financial sustainability. Your immediate supervisor is the Deputy Municipal Manager, also head of the Municipal Administration. You report and present financial issues to the Municipal Manager, the Municipal Executive Board and other political forums. Qualifications We are looking for someone who has: relevant academic education in finance or other education that the employer considers equivalent good knowledge of municipal finance and financial management experience with qualified financial work at strategic and operational levels management experience with responsibility for operations, finances, personnel and working environment experience from a municipal or other politically governed organization ability to communicate financial issues clearly to different target audiences documented good experience leading development and change initiatives. You navigate confidently between strategic development and daily operations. As a leader, you are present, attentive and clear. You build trust and participation and have integrity and courage to provide well-founded advice even in complex matters. You are unpretentious, appreciate others' perspectives and contribute to an open and learning climate. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
