Would you like independent work with great freedom to plan your workday while contributing to the development of one of the municipality's largest operations? We are now looking for an economist to support our healthcare and social services department.
At the finance office, you'll be part of a team working with both finance and procurement matters. With us, you'll have varied work where you combine strategic issues with support in daily operations. You work independently but also have many contact points and close collaboration with both colleagues and the department's managers. There are good opportunities for skills development based on your experience and interests.
We are located in City Hall in central Vetlanda and work closely with the municipality's operations. As an economist, you have a key role in the municipality's activities. We participate in processes related to budgeting, follow-up, analysis, and operational development. The work includes both decision support and operational support and is always based on applicable legislation and the requirements placed on public operations.
In this role, you work closely with the department manager and other staff members, primarily within the department's management functions. You are part of the healthcare and social services department's management team and contribute economic perspectives to various issues and decisions.
Your work tasks include:
working with budgeting, follow-up, and financial analysis
providing support to managers and operations on financial matters
contributing to development of working methods and processes within the finance area
preparing decision support materials and financial forecasts
participating in the department's development and quality work
You work both independently and together with other economists to handle finance matters. A commitment to society and a desire to contribute to the best possible service for the municipality's residents is important in this role.
We primarily work in the systems Raindance and Hypergene and expect you to be a proficient user of the Office package.
We are looking for someone who is thorough and has the ability to see both the big picture and the details when needed. You are analytical, communicative, and thrive in an advisory role with many contact points. With a solution-focused approach, you build trusted relationships and contribute to operational development.
This position is a maternity leave substitute for approximately 15 months. The position is full-time.
