The Care and Elderly Services Administration at Borås City works toward the goal that both younger and older residents in need of care, support and service, as well as healthcare and preventive health work, shall have a good life every day. The Administration consists of just over 2,600 employees, of which about 90 are managers, and is responsible for a net budget of 1.7 billion. The Finance function at the Care and Elderly Services Administration consists of eight employees who work with, among other things, budgeting and budget monitoring, accounting, financial statements, resource allocation, project accounting, premises coordination and other assignments as they arise. The position is based at Ramnåsgatan in Borås with proximity to both the city center, the scenic park area by Ramnasjön and the station with bus and train connections. Duties As an economist with us, you will have a qualified role where you work closely with the Administration's managers and contribute with analysis, advice and support on financial matters. You help clarify the connection between finance and operations and create the basis for well-founded decisions and efficient use of our shared resources. In this role, you will, among other things: be responsible for budget, forecast and monitoring work within parts of the Administration follow up and analyze financial results and identify and explain deviations provide advice and support to managers on financial matters and contribute financial perspectives to the operations' planning work with large amounts of financial data and complex financial flows understand, manage and work with complex distribution models and analyze how these affect the financial outcome work with financial accounting at an overall level, with focus on larger flows rather than individual transactions contribute to joint projects with other economists, managers and functions within Borås City You carry out your work tasks independently and take responsibility for planning and moving the work forward. The role contains work tasks of varying complexity, where qualified analytical and financial work alternates with more administrative tasks. Qualifications We are looking for someone who has a higher education or university degree with an economic focus or in public administration. You have several years of experience with qualified financial work in budgeting, forecasting, monitoring and analysis. Experience with financial work in public operations and knowledge of the regulations governing public administration are merits. To succeed in this role, you need to have good analytical ability and be able to see connections between finance and operations. You are curious, constructively questioning and take independent responsibility for driving your work forward. At the same time, you work well with others and thrive in a role where you need to deal with different perspectives and changing conditions. Since an important part of the assignment is to support managers on financial matters, you also need to be pedagogical and able to explain financial connections in a clear and understandable way, even for people without a financial background. You are experienced in working with various system support, have good Excel skills and experience with accounting systems. Experience with Raindance is a merit.
