At the Urology Department B192 University Hospital (US), you will find our inpatient ward where we care for patients pre- and postoperatively in connection with highly specialized urological surgery. We also have a high influx of acute admissions from the emergency department, our neighboring hospitals, directly from home, or via our outpatient clinic. This can range from bleeding in the urinary tract, drainage obstruction due to stones, to acute urosepsis. Despite the perception that we only change catheters – the work on the ward is very varied and stimulating as our main mission is focused on planned surgery for urological malignancy. We are looking for you, a nurse who wants to work in a pleasant team where our goal is to provide good care and opportunities for development through a good work environment. The Urology Clinic in Östergötland is part of the Center for Surgery, Orthopedics and Cancer Care (CKOC). The clinic is responsible for its own region and serves as a regional clinic for the Southeastern Healthcare Region. The clinic has approximately 100 employees and consists of an inpatient ward at the University Hospital, Department B192, as well as outpatient clinics in Linköping and Norrköping. Welcome to apply to a fantastic team and stimulating work! Our Offer Forward for life. Region Östergötland has high ambitions and a responsible mission. It is about health and care, about our region's development, and about those who live and stay here. We want to continue to be at the forefront, with care, research, and education. This means daring to think new – and having the best employees. Therefore, we offer unique opportunities for further learning and invest in modern environments with efficient systems and tools. Many of us meet patients and their loved ones, others create the conditions for vital services. With us work fantastic people toward the same goal – to make a real difference, and forward for life. Please read our career ladder for nurses and about your benefits with us; here you will also find information about regulations regarding salary and compensation. Job Description We work in care teams around patients where the team consists of nurses, nursing assistants, specialist nurses, doctors, social workers, and physiotherapists. During daytime there is also a coordinator responsible for patient flow on the ward. Working as a nurse involves responsibility for ensuring that care in each given situation maintains the right quality and is based on the patient's individual needs and resources. Your role includes leading and distributing work within the team and promoting a positive workplace climate. As a nurse, you rotate between day, evening, and night shifts. The introduction is tailored to your needs, usually lasting 4 weeks. We are committed to making you feel welcome and secure in your role. We also view further skills development positively, where you can develop through paid further education to become a specialist nurse or education in urological care. We work with preferred scheduling and aim to work 2 weekends out of 5. (Scheduling is done in Tessa, a scheduling program where you set your own schedule via computer or mobile.) About You You are a licensed nurse. You will communicate with patients, their loved ones, and colleagues, which means it is important that you have good Swedish language skills in both speech and writing. Experience in surgical/urological care is a merit. As a person, you easily adapt to changed circumstances and see opportunities in changes. You have the ability to plan and prioritize your work and maintain composure in stressful situations. You collaborate well with other people, communicate, and resolve conflicts in a constructive manner. Application and Employment We work with continuous selection and interviews, so please send in your application as soon as possible. Before employment in patient-facing work at Region Östergötland, you will be asked to fill out a health declaration. We warmly welcome your application! If you need help registering in the system, contact Customer Service Support and Service, 010-103 60 00, during office hours. To staffing, placement and recruitment companies and to you who are salespeople: We kindly but firmly ask you not to contact staffing, placement, and recruitment companies or other external parties and sellers of additional job advertisements directly. Region Östergötland has negotiated agreements.
