About our carbon capture facility at VärtaAt our facility in Värtan, where our combined heat and power plant already produces sustainable electricity and heat from residual products such as wood chips, branches and tops from the forest industry, we are now building a full-scale carbon capture facility to create even more climate benefits. Bio-CCS is a technology that captures biogenic carbon dioxide before it reaches the atmosphere to be permanently stored in bedrock, creating negative emissions because the carbon dioxide is separated from the biological cycle. Permanent negative emissions are the tool that can be used to counteract emissions that are difficult or impossible to eliminate. It is a necessary piece of the puzzle to reach climate goals and net-zero emissions. The facility will be able to capture up to 800,000 tons of carbon dioxide per year – more than all of Stockholm's road traffic emits during the same period. What can we offer you? In our team, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining our port facilities together with other operations technicians and operations engineers within the port group. At Energihamnen in Värtan we handle both solid and liquid fuels, and your role involves maintaining the port and depot for liquid fuels in close collaboration with our maintenance department. Together with your group, you will also be responsible for working toward established goals and contributing to the facility's development. As an operations technician, you will be offered interesting and versatile tasks within port operations, technology and maintenance. The position is a permanent employment and involves daytime work. The role covers work at the company's facilities based at Värtahamnen. In case of employment, on-call duty is included and the role involves civil defense placement. In connection with the role, you will also need to undergo a security clearance. Why work with me? Post-secondary education in technology with a focus on energy or other education combined with relevant experience for the role. Experience working with maintenance and operations. Good digital skills. Good communication skills and the ability to express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish and English. I sit in the control room and adjust the boiler. I prepare for shutdowns and other measures ... sometimes we receive fuel that doesn't burn as easily and can cause dangerous emissions of carbon monoxide.
