Project Description Research Subject: Physics The project focuses on condensed matter theory, with particular emphasis on quantum many-body physics. The research will primarily employ analytical approaches, particularly field-theoretical methods, to study interacting quantum systems both in and out of equilibrium. Numerical methods will be used to complement the analytical work. The group's current research interests include quantum chaos and thermalization, disordered systems, non-equilibrium dynamics in quantum systems, and superconductivity. Supervision: Yunxiang Liao is proposed to supervise the doctoral student. A decision will be made upon admission. Eligibility for Admission To be admitted to doctoral education (Chapter 7, Section 39 of the Higher Education Ordinance), applicants must have basic eligibility: completed a degree at the advanced level, or completed course requirements of at least 240 higher education credits, of which at least 60 higher education credits at the advanced level, or acquired substantially equivalent knowledge in some other way within or outside the country. In addition to the above, there is also a mandatory requirement in English equivalent to English B/6. The total employment period may not exceed what corresponds to full-time doctoral-level education for four years. An employed doctoral student may, to a limited extent (maximum 20%), perform certain tasks such as teaching and administration. A new employment as a doctoral student applies for a maximum of one year; the employment may thereafter be renewed for a maximum of two years at a time. For studies to be concluded with a Licentiate degree, the total employment period may not exceed what corresponds to full-time doctoral-level education for two years.
