Riga Technical University, Reg. No. 90000068977, announces a competition for a vacant academic staff position:
FACULTY OF COMPUTER SCIENCE, INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY AND ENERGY at the Institute of Industrial Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Energy
for one (1) DOCENT position (0.1 - 0.2 load) – in the field of Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Information and Communication Technologies; Power Engineering sub-field.
Duties and Qualification Requirements:
Required education: doctoral degree;
Scientific publications corresponding to the field of science and/or published teaching materials;
Ability to conduct research work in the science sub-field corresponding to the docent position title;
Competence to deliver lecture courses, conduct study classes, organize examinations in own study program (course, field), especially in foundational courses;
When applying for the first time, candidates must indicate in their CV a link to their ORCID profile (https://orcid.org/) created and completed where possible;
When reapplying, candidates must indicate in their CV a link to their created ORCID profile (https://orcid.org/) containing:
o information on at least: candidate biography, previous and current employment, education, scientific publications and projects from the last 6 years;
o links to employee Web of Science profile (ResearcherID) and SCOPUS profile (Scopus Author ID), if the author has indexed publications in these bibliographic databases;
Ability to present in an international environment in English;
Good knowledge of Latvian and English languages for conducting international work.
Candidates wishing to participate in the competition must submit electronically (signed with a secure electronic signature) to Riga Technical University's Department of People and Organizational Development at the email address ([email protected]):
a statement addressed to the rector regarding participation in the competition;
curriculum vitae indicating scientific, pedagogical, organizational work experience and a list of published works from the last 6 (six) years (it is recommended to attach the list of published works as a separate appendix), as well as other documents the candidate wishes to attach to supplement the application to better characterize their qualifications;
copies of documents confirming scientific/academic degrees or higher education and, if necessary, other documents specified in regulatory acts (for example, documents confirming state language proficiency level, etc.), presenting their originals if the candidate is applying to RTU for the first time and has not previously submitted these document copies to the Department of People and Organizational Development.
