KV Stables is part of the unit for clinical research and educational support. The operation primarily involves the animal species horses, ruminants, pigs, and dogs.
We are now seeking an animal care attendant or animal handler with experience working with horses. We welcome your application!
About the Job
Your work tasks include daily care, feeding, and maintenance of primarily horses and ruminants, but also pigs. The work also involves assisting instructors during teaching, examinations, treatments, and research. Your responsibilities may include animal transportation and contact with animal owners. You may be responsible for equipment and ordering of consumable materials. The work includes facility sanitation and material maintenance.
Working hours are daytime according to schedule and include weekends. Work during inconvenient hours may occur.
Your Background
You are a trained animal care attendant or animal handler with a focus on horses and have experience working with horses. A Class B driver's license is required.
Extended qualifications as an animal care attendant and/or training as an equine handler are advantageous. Experience working with horses and large animals in laboratory animal operations or animal hospitals is advantageous, as is experience with ruminants and training for transport of agricultural animals.
You express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish and have computer skills. The ability to express yourself well in English is desirable.
Great importance will be placed on personal suitability and abilities such as teamwork, flexibility, independence, and service orientation.

The Department of Clinical Sciences is responsible for basic education, research, and research education within the scientific areas of veterinary medicine, animal care science, and livestock science. The department's operations primarily involve our common Swedish domesticated animal species (livestock) with a focus on anesthesiology, diagnostic imaging, animal care science, epidemiology, laboratory animal medicine, surgery, clinical chemistry, medicine, and livestock reproduction.
