Do you like to tinker, work with your hands, and solve problems that come up along the way? Then this could be the job for you, even if you've never heard of a Distribution Electrician before. As a Distribution Electrician, you ensure that electricity gets where it needs to go. One day you might be out troubleshooting a power outage, the next day you're building new or improving the power grid for the future. You work close to nature, have great freedom in your daily work, and become part of a team that helps each other. As a Distribution Electrician, you work with service, maintenance, troubleshooting, and new construction in power grids between 0.4–40 kV. It's practical work where you use both your hands and your mind to solve problems and create safe, sustainable solutions for our customers. For those with experience in this role who want to take on more responsibility, there are opportunities to work as an electrical safety manager with responsibility for contracted personnel and subcontractors. You'll primarily work within the local area and be home the same day, but longer travels can occur when operations require it. We use home-based operations, so you start directly from home with your service vehicle. On-call duty can also be part of the role.
