To the IT Development Unit at the Office of the Prosecutor General's head office, we are seeking a Data Protection Specialist with a focus on data protection issues and IT law. In recent years, law and technology have become increasingly intertwined, and questions about data protection and other IT legal issues are often in focus in the IT department's work. At the IT Development Unit, both technicians and lawyers work together. We all have different tasks but work together in development groups on ongoing projects. Your work as a lawyer at the unit is independent with considerable responsibility. You will drive the agency's work on data protection issues and procedures in this area, but you will have support from additional lawyers at the agency and other personnel who can contribute and collaborate. You will also be responsible for your own projects where data protection or IT legal issues are central. Your responsibilities The role involves responsibility for the overarching perspective while maintaining an understanding of the agency's operational activities. Your main responsibilities will consist of coordinating the agency's data protection work and investigating, documenting, and providing advice on data protection issues and IT legal matters. Examples of responsibilities: Develop governing documents within your area of responsibility Develop new working methods and implement these; for example, develop new services, establish and revise agreements, respond to consultations, and conduct legal investigations Responsibility for the agency's work on regulatory compliance in this area and continuously review and create procedures for this Supervise other staff at the unit Collaborate with other agencies, international bodies, and other external actors You will also be the IT management's legal support on these matters. Your qualities and qualifications We are looking for someone who has a Nordic law degree, has extensive knowledge of data protection legislation and IT legal matters and several years of practical experience working with these issues, has experience supervising others and driving projects, has good technical understanding and a demonstrated interest in digitalization, has strong Swedish language skills, both spoken and written. As a person, we would like you to have good collaboration skills and the ability to build good working relationships, be thorough, organized, and stress-resilient, be independent, goal-oriented, and take responsibility. It is advantageous if you have experience from the public sector, experience and interest in the criminal law field, interest in IT security and related matters. About the employment The employment is a permanent position with a 6-month probationary period. Tests may be used in the recruitment process. The position is classified as a security position and therefore a security clearance with background check will be conducted. Swedish citizenship is a requirement for this employment. The position is based at the Office of the Prosecutor General's head office in Stockholm, but we are a modern workplace that enables remote work to a large extent, which means that many employees in the IT department largely work and meet virtually.
