The Health and Sports Center of the Ministry of Interior is announcing a competition for a vacant position of Occupational Health and Safety Specialist in the Work Environment Department (state civil service official) Requirements for candidates: compliance with the requirements of Article 7 of the State Civil Service Law; higher education in occupational health and safety or at least first-level higher education and basic education in the field of occupational health and safety is desirable; no less than 1 year of work experience in the field of occupational health and safety within the last 5 years; experience in state administration will be considered an advantage; good computer user skills (MS Office standard applications); excellent knowledge of Latvian language; high sense of responsibility, ability to plan your work time, and willingness to work in a team. Duties of the position: provide methodological assistance to institutions under the Ministry of Interior, as well as collect data and develop recommendations in the field of occupational health and safety; provide consultative assistance to Ministry of Interior institutions on occupational health and safety matters within their competence, as well as on basic requirements of sanitary and anti-epidemic regimes; provide methodological assistance in assessing harmful work environment risk factors in institutions under the Ministry of Interior, and prepare and finalize necessary documentation; monitor the performance of mandatory health examinations of employees in institutions; prepare opinions on draft regulatory acts and develop internal regulatory acts in the field of occupational health and safety; in cooperation with specialists from the State Labor Inspectorate, prepare job descriptions for employees who may be exposed to occupational diseases; perform duties related to occupational health and safety at the Health and Sports Center of the Ministry of Interior.
